Maggie Greene is forced to make the toughest decision of her life in “The King, the Widow, and Rick.” Not only does she decide to temporarily follow Jesus’ advice, but she even decides to lump Gregory into the mix of prisoners.
On the surface, it looks like Maggie Greene has made the right decision. For now, she’s going to keep the Saviors as prisoners within the walls of Hilltop. In the latest episode, she has a few of her troops build a new prison for these Saviors.
Then, she tosses Gregory into the prison as well. But with Jared and Gregory together, will these Saviors escape and destroy Hilltop?
Maggie Greene May (Accidentally) Destroy Hilltop
At first glance, Maggie appears to have made the right decision. On the surface, she pleases everyone (except for Gregory) by creating the prison. But when she tells Jesus that she is only holding them as bargaining chips, she makes a mistake.
In our opinion, she would have been better off not telling Jesus the truth. This way, she has three people who are actively trying to free the prisoners. Jesus doesn’t want them to die, so he may be the one to set these men free.
Then, there’s Gregory and Jared to consider.
Gregory, Jared, And Jesus Might…
Gregory will do whatever it takes to save his own life. Additionally, he’s the only one inside the new prison who truly knows the ins and outs of the prison. Also, Jared is actively trying to escape every few minutes.
At first, Jared tries to run away while walking back to Hilltop. While putting him in the prison, he also tries to steal a gun and undo his ropes. Jared and Gregory will likely team up while on the inside.
If Jesus truly decides that he can’t live with the fact that these men will be killed, he could go on the other side of the fence and free them. It doesn’t seem like he would do this, but it really depends on how much this weighs on his conscience.
With that in mind, it’s possible that Maggie Greene made the worst decision of her life. The only way to keep the Hilltop safe is to kill these Saviors and Gregory.
Do you think Jesus would ever double-cross Maggie Greene?
