Jesus Actor Tom Payne Talks Walking Dead Comic Book
Tom Payne Celebrates Future Walking Dead
With the 100th episode of The Walking Dead coming up, the cast and crew are already thinking about the next 100 episodes. Jesus actor Tom Payne is looking forward to his character in future episodes.
After Rick’s war with Negan in the “All Out War” saga, things change on the show. Without giving too much away, it’s likely that several things will follow the comic book after the war comes to an end.
Some of these changes involve Tom Payne character, Jesus.
“Riding A Horse, Holding A Sword”
“Well, I read the comic books, and if we do the time jump I enjoy Jesus’ whole new look — like his whole top knot and body armor, and riding a horse, holding a sword, that’s really cool,” confirmed Tom Payne.
“He’s a bit bigger as well. I’d like to get back to the gym and change myself up a little bit and change the look. That would be really cool. That would be like a whole new change and would be really exciting,” said the actor.
In the past, Tom Payne trained to be able to move like Jesus. He was more of a small, agile force than a big, muscle-bound character.
Jumping Forward In Time On TWD
On the show, less time has passed than the comic. The time jump really allows for the characters to make big differences on the show. Tom Payne believes the show could use a significant change like the time jump. He thinks they’ll need it after the war.
Some shows use short time jumps to show major changes in characters. On shows like Modern Family, the series will use a summer break to change young actresses from a baby to a toddler and so on.
The series Parenthood used season breaks to change all of the characters. For The Walking Dead, season breaks were usually only a few moments ahead. In that respect, the whole series hasn’t lasted that long.
This is why Maggie is pregnant but still not showing in the series.
