Michael Rooker Wants Norman Reedus At Marvel
If Michael Rooker has anything to say about it, the Dixon brothers may hit the big screen once again. Since leaving his role on The Walking Dead as Merle Dixon, actor Michael Rooker has moved on to star in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Rooker recently told Comic Book that he would love to pair up with actor Norman Reedus once again. The actor who now plays Yondu said, “I think me and Norman would make a great team.”
“You don’t need bows in space,” joked Michael Rooker.
Major Cameos In Marvel Films
One cameo that has been announced is that Sylvester Stallone will be appearing in the sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2. The website reports the former Rocky actor will play a small, but “key, important role.”
Marvel hasn’t confirmed who Stallone might play in this sequel, but based on a leaked press released, he could play Stakar Ogord, a.k.a. Starhawk. Another preview hints that Kurt Russell could appear as Star-Lord’s father.
Chris Praitt will return as the lead.
Marvel’s Universe Continues To Grow
With Michael Rooker’s career going in many different directions, it does look like Norman Reedus will be on The Walking Dead for years to come. The creators are aiming to keep making the show for a total of 12-20 seasons.
Based on Marvel’s massive market, there will likely be another Guardians move after the sequel and they’ll probably also combine those with the other Avengers films so there’s a lot of potential for future cameos.
Maybe Rooker can somehow talk Stan Lee’s crew into featuring Norman Reedus in one of the many roles to come within the Marvel universe. If not, there’s always Netflix for watching the Dixon brothers survive the apocalypse.
Do you think we’ll ever see Daryl Dixon on the big screen with his brother?
