Chandler Riggs’ Mother Just Sent Emotional Letter To TWD Fans

The Walking Dead has been giving fans a hangover for the past three years. With the deaths of Glenn Rhee, Abraham Ford, Sasha Williams, and (possibly) Carl Grimes, fans are saying, “Never again.” Fair-weather or not, Chandler Riggs’ mom has a word or two for her son’s flock of fans.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” wrote the proud parent. “The amount of messages, texts, and calls we have gotten is overwhelming. We feel the love.”

It would appear the Riggs finally saw the blessing in disguise; considering his dad’s last social media post was more bitter than sweet.

“I have read every comment tonight and I am so happy that my sweet Chandler had such a huge impact on so many lives through his portrayal of Carl. Please know that although we were shocked and disappointed in the beginning. We are all GOOD now,” wrote Chandler Riggs’ mom.

Above all else, it’s good to hear that the young actor is happy to be doing what he loves to do. Since he’s known longer than the rest of us (and the rest of the cast), he’s had more time to process the series exit.

Mrs. Riggs concluded the letter, “This is a tough business and he’s handled himself like a true pro.”

Assuming “the bite” does kill Carl Grimes, the mid-season finale of Season 8A will be talked about for years. Not only was it shocking, but it’s one of the biggest left turns we’ve ever seen from a comic.

It’s hard to even imagine Showrunner Scott Gimple talking to Chandler Riggs about it, much less running it by Robert Kirkman (presumably, this had to happen). After all, fans have been talking about the hypothetical Carl Grimes death for years. But no one ever thought they would actually see it happen.

Now, Chandler Riggs has a short haircut, a music career, and a chance to live in Hollywood. Since Riggs is only around 18 years old, he’s got a lot of future ahead of him. Hopefully, rising star and former TWD alum Jon Bernthal can give him some pointers in how to tackle the movie biz.
