BREAKING: Andrew Lincoln’s Secret Agony Over Season 7… Send Support

We’ve ridden a bit of a roller coaster with the latest season of The Walking Dead. After the unnerving high of the season premiere, stories following individual characters fell flat for a lot of viewers.

In fairness, after the brutal killings of Abraham and Glenn at the hands of Negan, there was no way the show would be able to sustain that kind of momentum. Most diehard fans understood the need to slow things down before Rick and company retaliate against Negan. Still, it apparently wasn’t enough for casual viewers as the ratings this season have dipped to near-record lows.

In a new interview, series star Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) says he’s aware of the criticisms, and he can’t help but take it personally. It seems fan responses have hurt his feelings — but from what he says, he understands exactly where they’re coming from — somewhat.
