Rick Grimes Prepares For War
Rick Grimes made it out alive of Season 7, but the episodes leading up to the finale took a lot out of him. The finale offered a small victory for Rick’s crew, but the actor has said he expects for Season 8 to be much more fun.
“This has been one of the more unpleasant aspects of his psyche, this submissive version,” said Lincoln. “But certainly the first eight would not be a pleasant experience but it was a great challenge.”
Andrew Lincoln really enjoyed working with Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Andrew Lincoln Talks Season 8
“A good acting challenge,” said Lincoln. “And certainly I enjoyed having a bit more bite, bit more grit in my belly, sharing scenes with Jeffrey Dean Morgan.” The fans are certainly excited to see more interactions between these two.
When Season 8 returns, we’ll see Rick and Negan at their best. Both men will finally be prepared to take out the other, so there’s no more double-crossing or hidden clues when the show comes back in October.
“I think it’s going to be a lot more fun season eight, pitted against him with a bit more push back,” said actor Andrew Lincoln.
Rick’s New Mode In Season 8
Season 7 was difficult for Lincoln because his character had essentially been growing for six full seasons before he hit a wall. Negan, a force like Rick had never seen before, was actually there to help Rick grow more as a character.
Rick now looks for the future, which is both good and bad. Rick Grimes now understands that the future is more important than anything else, even if that means losing more people.
It’s actually more important for Rick to kill “Neganism” than it is to kill Negan. The leader of the Saviors is just one man, but his entire empire needs to be taken down and reworked for the sake of the future.
Do you think Rick will ever actually kill Negan?
