There are several clues that Season 9 of The Walking Dead is about to be completely different from the previous eight seasons. Not only has the protagonist Rick Grimes started to become more peaceful but there are also rumors of a time jump and a different kind of battlefield. Either way, actor Tom Payne is optimistic.
At the Nashville Walker Stalker Con that occurred over the Mother’s Day weekend, Payne gave away a few details for the upcoming season. Payne talked a little about the new showrunner Angela Kang, who took over for Scott Gimple, and hinted that Morgan Jones won’t be back for the next season.
Morgan has crossed over to Fear the Walking Dead and it looks like he won’t be making the trip back to Alexandria anytime soon. “It’s kind of sad,” said Payne and about his former co-star Lennie James. The two spent a lot of time together in Season 8 of The Walking Dead.
