Like many other networks, CBS likes to keep it in the family regarding their actors, writers, and directors. Casting has decided to bring in Billy Gardell for a role on The Big Bang Theory prequel, Young Sheldon.
In the pilot episode, young Sheldon Cooper met his nemesis, Billy Sparks. According to reports, the boy’s father will be played by Billy Gardell from Mike & Molly. His new character’s name is Herschel Sparks.
Now, the prequel series has been picked up to run for at least one full season.
Billy Gardell Will Appear On Young Sheldon
Comedian Billy Gardell is perhaps best known for his roles on Mike & Molly (opposite Melissa McCarthy), Bad Santa, along with You, Me, and Dupree. And, the actor has also been on various other sitcoms in the past.
Some examples include the Sun Records, Sullivan & Son, My Name Is Earl, Heist, The Practice, Lucky, Judging Amy, and two other CBS shows, The King of Queens and Yes, Dear, back in the early 2000s.
Now, he’s coming back to the network.
Young Sheldon Gets Full First Season
Thanks to the NFL, there’s been a break between the pilot episode of Young Sheldon and the second episode. With the month-long break, the network has decided to extend the series to a full 22-episode run.
Based on the first episode, the young version of Sheldon Cooper is going to continue to ruffle some tail feathers. Not only did Young Sheldon offend some of his classmates, but he even gave the teachers a run for their money.
So, if the second episode shows chicken-farmer Herschel Sparks, it’s possible that Sheldon is going to run into his nemesis, young Billy Sparks. Billy is certainly bigger, but hopefully, Sheldon can outsmart his bully neighbor.
If the 9-year-old version is anything like the current version of Sheldon Cooper, it’s also possible he could come home with no pants. This is what happened when Leonard and Sheldon tried to get money back from one of Penny’s exes.
So, do you think Sheldon Cooper will be able to outsmart this enemy?
