TBBT: What Sheldon Cooper Should STOP Doing To Stay Out Of Trouble

By Brock Swinson | Monday Monday Staff -    2017-11-30

Sheldon Cooper and alcohol don’t exactly mix. In fact, the first time times he enjoyed a drink, it was because someone tricked him. Whether it’s Penny giving Sheldon tainted tea or a holiday treat, he gets in trouble every single time he drinks.

On the few occasions where Sheldon Cooper has had a drink, he’s played piano at the Cheesecake Factory, mooned an awards show audience, challenged Wil Wheaton to a fight, and smacked Amy on the tuchis.

“What brings you in?” asked Penny the bartender.

“If you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to have a conversation about girls,” said Sheldon Cooper, back in Season 6, Episode 7 of The Big Bang Theory. Alone, he pulled up a bar stool to discuss his problems.

“I usually have chamomile tea, but I don’t think that’s going to cut it,” said Sheldon, when asked for his drink of choice. Then, of course, Penny gave Sheldon a Long Island Iced Tea, even though he didn’t know what he was getting into.

“Will that calm my nerves?” asked Sheldon.

Soon after, the duo started to discuss Sheldon’s problems. “The core problem is that Amy and Will do not like each other,” he said. “Which is baffling because they’re both crazy about me.”

“That is a treat that’s hard to beat,” said Sheldon Cooper, after taking his first swig of Long Island Iced Tea. When told to pace himself, he told Penny, “I drink tea all the time. I think I know what I’m doing.” A moment later, he finished his first glass.

“Your problem is not Wil Wheaton,” she told him. “Your problem is the way you treated Amy.” In many ways, this was merely the first time Sheldon came to Penny for advice on Wil Wheaton and his new fiancé, Amy Farrah Fowler.

Regardless, Sheldon should stick to the advice and avoid the Long Island Iced Teas. One is helpful, but the other is hurtful.

What do you think of Sheldon Cooper when he drinks too much?
