“Love isn’t just science. It’s spiritual…” said Raj Koothrappali. “It’s what makes people write songs and poems.” This week on The Big Bang Theory, it looks like Raj has finally found the one.
Raj Koothrappali is the last one on the show to find someone who might be his soul mate, but there’s one problem. In the statement above, he’s arguing his beliefs because her views on love are very different.
Ruchi, Raj’s date for the evening, doesn’t really believe love is anything other than a biochemical reaction in the brain.
Raj Koothrappali Is Looking For Love
“Don’t you think that love given away on a game show (The Bachelor) slightly undermines your argument?” asked Ruchi. Regardless, Raj loves the show and will never stop believing in love.
Later in the episode, Raj goes to visit his old friends, Howard and Bernadette. There, he vents about his new relationship. For Raj, he doesn’t think he wants to spend time with someone who doesn’t have the same beliefs as him.
Then, of course, Howard changes his mind as Raj hears his own words.
“She Doesn’t Want To Fall In Love…”
“You don’t want to date someone who is just interested in sex?” asked Howard. Then, Howard gives him a moment to think about what he’s saying. Raj is still thinking as a hopeless romantic.
“What is there to get? She doesn’t want to fall in love. At that point, all we are is two single people who find each other attractive and enjoy having… Oh, gotta go,” said Raj Koothrappali.
Finally, Raj started to see the benefit of his current circumstance. Sure, it’s not exactly what he wanted to happen, but it’s definitely a start. Raj isn’t the type of guy who can have a casual relationship, but perhaps it will turn into something more.
The next day, Raj told Howard the good news. Things are going well with Ruchi, even though Raj gets a little misty when he has to leave. Hopefully he won’t screw this up and things can move forward and possibly turn to romance.
