There seems to be a lot of drama surrounding Kaley Cuoco these days. Many tabloids are reporting that tensions are high between the cast members of the Big Bang Theory because of Cuoco’s high profile divorce from Ryan Sweeting. But that’s for another time. But why would cast members be angry about press coverage about divorce? I smell tabloid treachery here. In order to take some unnecessary negativity away from her, let’s learn a bit about Kaley Cuoco.

Kaley Christine Cuoco was born on November 30, 1985 in Camarillo, California. Her father is of Italian descent, while her mother is English. Cuoco started work in the entertainment industry at a young age. She modeled as a child and soon made her way into commercials. Her first acting role was in a TV movie called Quicksand: No Escape, with Donald Sutherland and Tim Matheson. An interesting role she snagged was as “Little Ellen” on Ellen DeGeneres sitcom. Later on, she landed small guest roles on such series as Northern Exposure, 7th Heaven and My So-Called Life. Cuoco was home schooled and had never gone to high school.

Cuoco’s first well known role was as was Bridget Hennessy on the sitcom 8 Simple Rules from 2002-2005. She would later play Billie Jenkins in the last season of Charmed before landing the role as Penny, Leonard’s love interest, in the Big Bang Theory.

Though she plays the somewhat dim character of Penny on TV, Cuoco actually earned her high school degree at the age of 16. Another high achievement to add to her list, is that she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 29, 2014. Not bad for the #78 in FHM magazine’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005.” When she’s not acting, Cuoco is an avid tennis player. She ranks well in Southern California Tennis Association standings as a member of a regional amateur division team.

Kaley also enjoys other activities like spending time with friends, going to the mall, and hip-hop dancing. Kaley’s favorite musical acts include Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Josh Groban, and Kelly Clarkson. She has a very healthy look on life since she is a vegetarian and enjoys a lot of sports such as horseback riding, kickboxing, bowling, and playing the drums. Kaley also loves animals and has a Chihuahua-dachshund mix dog named Petey, a German shepherd named Duke and a Jack Russell Terrier named Raquel.

See? Most stars are just like us. They visit friends, have pets and hobbies, and like music. It is important to remember that when we engage in celebrity entertainment that at the end of the day celebrities are only people. That is hard to remember when you’re star struck and in front of them, but it SHOULD be no problem to remember when we are smearing them in tabloids. Let’s not have another Britney Spears fiasco, please. The Big Bang Theory is too smart of a show for tabloid shaming anyway.
