Actor Johnny Galecki has just confirmed that he will be returning to Roseanne for the reboot. After twelve agreed-upon seasons of The Big Bang Theory, the actor already has his sights on a new series.
Originally, Johnny Galecki starred as Darlene’s boyfriend, David, on the ABC series. Comedian Whitney Cummings is producing the show and she shared a photo of a director’s chair with the actor’s name on it.
The actor confirmed with Variety that he will be in the series, but it’s unclear if this will be a cameo or a complete reprisal.
Johnny Galecki Joins Cast of Roseanne
So far, various actors, like Roseanne Barr (Roseanne), John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Aunt Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Michael Fishman (D.J.), and Lecy Goranson (Becky) will also return.
Sarah Chalke played Becky in later seasons and will likely appear in a new role. In addition, actors Ames McNamara and Emma Kenney have been cast as David and Darlene’s children.
Other executive producers include Tom Werner and Bruce Helford. The show has been greenlighted for at least nine episodes so far.
The Big Bang Theory May End After Season 12
With Johnny Galecki joining this new series, it’s possible that The Big Bang Theory will be coming to an end after Season 12. The actors have agreed to do two more seasons, but they may go ahead and end on a high note.
In addition to Galecki’s new job, actors like Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Jim Parsons are also taking on new roles as actors or producers. Cuoco has even begun her own new production company for the series named The Flight Attendant.
Over the years, Galecki has had a series of hits where he doesn’t really even need to work. Not only was he in the classics like Christmas Vacation, but his roles on Roseanne, The Big Bang Theory, and Entourage has made him a star.
Currently, the cast of The Big Bang Theory all make around $1 million an episode, not to mention their royalty checks for the various reruns on TBS and other channels.
