It’s not surprising that a show about genius nerds revolves around technology. During Season 11 of The Big Bang Theory, it seems someone is constantly being filmed on a computer screen or iPhone.
In the latest episode, the writers put Bernadette on bed rest with her baby. More than likely, the crew had to include her off-set due to her real-life pregnancy, either because of the pregnancy or hiatus afterward.
This is also very common with guest star, Stephen Hawking, who generally appears over Skype.
The Big Bang Theory On Bitcoin, iPhone, And More
In addition to the various Skype chats, phone calls, and the like, the series also tackles the bigger picture technological advances. In the ninth episode, the series tackles the uber-complicated topic of bitcoin.
When Sheldon Cooper came to meet his friends, he brought up the fact that they once mined for bitcoins. Essentially, rather than purchasing a bitcoin like a stock, they can be acquired by solving complex math problems.
Over time, like a stock, the value of the bitcoin will increase.
Guest Stars On The Big Bang Theory
In the past, many shows and films tried to write around technology. In an effort to not feel dated, they would write stories without having to include the newest technology. However, The Big Bang Theory has enjoyed the changes in tech.
The Big Bang Theory began with one of the first iPhones ten years ago and have addressed the various phone changes over time. They’ve also spoken about their upgrades at work, within equipment and more.
In addition to the tech, they’ve also had the most tech-advanced individuals on the show. Beyond Stephen Hawking, the series has also had astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Elon Musk, and Woz from Apple.
In many ways, it would be less honest if they didn’t focus on new tech because that’s the way people talk, chat, and communicate these days.
