At the recent San Diego Comic Con, fans of The Big Bang Theory got to spend some time with their favorite characters on the show. During the Q&A portions of the event, fans even learned some insider knowledge never shared before.

One amazing piece of trivia revolved around the Star Wars universe. Apparently, when Carrie Fisher first ran into James Earl Jones on set of TBBT, she hadn’t seen him in years and shouted “Dad!” at the Darth Vader voice actor.

When Kunal, Nayyar, landed on the set of TBBT, it was only the second role he had. This is extremely lucky for anyone in Hollywood. His first role was a terrorist on NCIS after graduating from Temple University.

Maiden Names And Improv On Set

Fans once against asked about Penny’s maiden name, which has never been said on the show before. Actress Kaley Cuoco said, “I have it in my head what I think that it is, but now I’m Penny Hofstadter, so it doesn’t matter!”

Lots of the jokes come from improv. Cuoco also said, “That’s what I love about this cast like we laugh and when we’re saying things. It’s completely natural—it’s not a written-in thing…. I’m constantly entertained.” Cuoco’s favorite episode of all time is “The Scavenger Vortex.”

Kunal is also laughably jealous of Cuoco’s wardrobe. He’s upset he has to wear heavy sweaters all the time while she gets to wear shorts and tanks. Kunal Nayyar also has to straighten his hair every episode as it’s naturally curly.

Finally, during the 200th episode, Batman actor Adam West came back to set. During the episode, the character version of West had to say, “Don’t ring my doorbell or my poodles will go crazy!” West rehearsed the line, but then asked if he could have a tougher dog, like a Rottweiler.

Ironically, West had poodles in real life, so they kept the funnier, poodle version.

Did you know all of these nerdy Big Bang Theory facts?
