In Mayim’s viral video she talked about the importance of not calling women girls. She recounted a time at a bar when her friend referred to a grown woman as a girl, and explained her outrage for the word. She say’s we would never call grown men boys, and in calling grown women girls we are subconsciously admitting they are inferior.
She urges her viewers to challenge those who do say “girls” and to remember that our language matters.
