There are seven categories to explore on Robertson Roots. Lifestyle, Cooking, Gardening, Fashion, Create, Holidays, and Store. Each category has different blog posts, written or co-written by Robertson herself. The many categories show the different sides of Robertson. In her “About me” section she describes herself by saying, “I’m a blessed mama of four. I’m a lover of all things vintage. I’m an oldie at heart. I may have been born in the wrong century… cry when anyone else cries, which my kids make fun of…want to be a farmer when I grow up. And last but not least, I LOVE my mate!” This description leads us to believe the blog posts will be largely family focused.

Cooking up a Storm

One of the stand-out categories of Robertson’s lifestyle blog is the “Cooking category.” In a post entitled “Homemade Organic Baby Food!” Jessica dishes on how she feeds her infant son Gus. Robertson’s cooking posts have an organic and health conscious theme, but keep money concerns in mind. She told her fellow moms, “I encourage all you mothers out there to start making your baby’s food, and on the bright side it saves so much money!”

Fashion Posts to Come

Although Robertson has yet to post a true fashion article on her blog, she did write what she hopes the fashion portion of the website will be. In a post entitled “True Beauty is Not Fleeting,” Jessica writes, “What I hope to do in this section of my blog is share fun encouraging messages to all women, men, and children that you are beautiful. How modest clothing can make you feel more confident, and less is more when it comes to makeup.” This is interesting as many have noted that Jessica is often the most made-up wife on the Duck Dynasty show. The post doesn’t feature fashionable clothes or make-up choices, but instead shows a picture of Jessica’s children.

“Create” is Synonymous with DIY

It would appear the “Create” section of the blog is a DIY page. Robertson has written posts about how to make your own personal care items. These include essential oils, and body butter. There are also DIYs on how to create decorative items for your home, and fun ideas for kids.

Robertsonroots.com demonstrates that Jessica Robertson has similar aspirations to the likes of Lauren Conrad, and Gwenyth Paltrow, who have created lifestyle brands out of celebrity. Time will tell if these efforts will be successful!
