Here’s how some of America’s most devoted marriages got started.
The Robertsons are known for their devoted marriages and seriously long-lasting relationships. They’re also known for meeting YOUNG, and sticking it out through thick and thin.
What most Duck Dynasty fans don’t realize is that not every Robertson couple is the same. Some of these couples met in grade school, and some had been married before.
Here are their wild stories, see how many shocks you.
Korie and Willie Met At Camp
I first laid eyes on @realwilliebosshog in 3rd grade at summer camp and fell instantly in love 😍 (obviously! Look at those dimples) Today he turns 46, my how time flies! Many things have changed…we’ve grown together, have an amazing family, had successes and failures, good times and bad, lived many of our dreams (Willie’s playing in a celebrity golf tournament today on his birthday with Will as his caddy #livingthedream 🙌🏻) and that funny, thoughtful, passionate kid is still right there under that beard. Still loving you, Willie, forever and always. Looking forward to at least 46 more birthdays with you! #happybirthday #willieandkorie
Korie and Willie Robertson met in grade school at summer camp. The Robertsons love to go away for the summer to a Christian camp each year. Korie and Willie met there when they were in third grade, and they’ve been smitten ever since.
Korie wrote on Instagram, “I first laid eyes on @realwilliebosshog in 3rd grade at summer camp and fell instantly in love 😍 (obviously! Look at those dimples).” What’s even crazier is that Korie’s parents met at the exact same camp as well. John and Chrys Hower were never on Duck Dynasty, but many fans know them from the Robertson’s blogs and social media feeds. Eventually, Chrys bought the camp, and Willie ended up running it.
Korie explained, “Willie took the camp’s deficit from about $150,000 to $5,000 in a couple years,” she wrote. “The kids would come to camp for about six weeks during the summer, but Willie started renting the camp’s facilities to churches and youth groups during the off-season.” Perhaps that is how Willie learned to build up a successful business.
26 years!! We were just kids! Our song was “Love Makes Things Happen” by Pebbles. We believed it and still do. Someone asked me today “how do you make it 26 years?” I’ve been thinking about that, and I think the best thing I can tell you is simply don’t quit. When things get tough, dig in, stay, fight it out, forgive, change, grow, and find your way back to one another. That and @realwilliebosshog always makes me laugh and writes really sweet love notes 😍I love you with all of my heart, babe, let’s keep making things happen 😘 #happyanniversary #willieandkorie
The pair has now been married over 26 years. That’s quite the feat, and when asked how they did it, Korie replied, “I’ve been thinking about that, and I think the best thing I can tell you is simply don’t quit. When things get tough, dig in, stay, fight it out, forgive, change, grow, and find your way back to one another.”
