As usual, the internet was full of all sorts of clever comments in regards to Fear the Walking Dead, Episode 209: Los Muertos. The episode was a bit freaky, even by the standards having previously been set in the Walking Dead Universe. Much of this I read while researching on Comicbook.com so I thought why not share. Many distinctions where made, I clearly didn’t think of, or I would be taking the credit for it myself. But I’m a firm believer in giving credit where it’s due.
Mainly, the reason to share this with you is the humor. People on the internet are funny. People on Twitter are REALLY funny. Why is Twitter so funny you may wonder? Because you’ve got to be incredibly creative to make a tweet that stands out from the crowd. After all, a tweet is only 140 characters and that number is shortened if pictures and hashtags are involved.
In case you didn’t see Los Muertos, it was a very different type of episode. You may want to watch it before reading the rest of this post as it could contain some spoilers that will take away from the thrill of the episode. So the episode goes very deeply into the psychology of people after the apocalypse. Los Muertos also covers the belief systems of different people of different countries and cultures. That is something we really haven’t see too much of in the Walking Dead Universe.
Along with beliefs and values, there is quite a bit of soul searching by in Los Muertos by just about every character in the show. Anyway, this presented a perfect opportunity for some pretty funny tweets on Twitter.
I’ll share a couple of things I thought were funny here. My favorite was a tweet by a random Tweeter in relation to the picture below of the cast with a brand new truck.
Tagging a friend, “What’s the name of the band and when are guys dropping an album? #ftwd”
That’s pretty funny considering the condition of the crew and the truck. It does look a bit reminiscent of a 90’s or early 2000’s pop rock group’s new album cover about how hard life is. In any case, it made me laugh.
Another thing that was point out was the clear similarities between Daryl Dixon and Luciana. We all know Daryl, he’s the number one killer in AMC’s The Walking Dead. But Lucian is new, she is basically the female equivalent of Daryl. In one scene on Los Muertos, she stakes a walker to a wall with some knives and then proceeds to slice its throat wide open. She then gets blood to use in order to mask herself from other walkers. It’s pretty f#cking hardcore when you see it, especially as she stands there smearing the blood all over her face.
She’s definitely going to become the female equivalent of Daryl as she has a none f#cks given attitude. I’m excited to see what happens next with her in future episodes. Are there any other funny tweets, memes or crazy ideas you had about Fear the Walking Dead? If so, share them in the comments below and then make sure to like and share the content with your friends too! And make sure you get caught up with the show before the next episode airs next Sunday on AMC at 9pm EST.
