Will Phil Robertson call out Roy Moore the same way he called out Harvey Weinstein? The Duck Dynasty patriarch didn’t go easy on Hollywood’s disgraced mogul. But will he hold his Republican candidate to the same standard?
Phil Robertson On Harvey Weinstein
Phil Robertson called it like he saw it with the Harvey Weinstein scandal. He said of the accused mogul, “We’ve said for years that the Hollywood media has been controlled by the Evil One and now some Hollywood mogul is trying to breed all the chicks, and it gets covered up, and everybody is shocked!”
Phil has previously rejected all sorts of promiscuous behavior. He even went so far as to say Beyonce’s music causes sexually transmitted diseases. He brashly said, “So according to God, the Center for Disease Control, and me, don’t listen to that chick. She will lead you down a path into the microbe world. She’ll take you down a path you don’t want to go down.”
However, Phil himself isn’t exactly a patron saint of innocence. He has also admitted, “I’ve had some pretty raunchy sins in my first 28 years on the earth…Grace is far better than law. Grace says all your past sins can be removed and never counted against you again.”
So which standard will Phil hold Roy Moore to? Phil has been a famous endorser for the Roy Moore’s campaign throughout the year. He previously said, “I have been an admirer for some time of Judge Roy Moore,” Robertson said in a statement. “He judged with a good understanding of the Constitution and the law, but he also understands natural law and who gave us our rights to begin with, Almighty God.”
This past week, Roy Moore was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct. One woman even accused him of initiating sexual contact with her when she was only 14 years old. Another woman was 16 at the time of the crime. The RNC has formally withdrawn their campaign fundraising agreement with Moore and many Republicans are coming forward saying they believe the women over the judge.
So what will Phil Robertson say? He’ll have to say something at some point, but we can’t be sure which side he’ll take.
