The Robertsons have been enjoying their free time post-Duck Dynasty. Now that the family isn’t filming their reality series, they’ve been enjoying traveling around the world. Some trips have been for pleasure, other for mission work. All of them have been exotic and beautiful.
The Robertsons Go To Israel
Sometimes when you say yes to things that scare you, you end up surfing in the Indian Ocean!! #bucketlist 🌊 When I told people we were going to Somalia I could see the flash of fear roll across their face, but I know this: Love is always greater than fear. Fear makes us stay home, Love causes us run to. Fear makes us weak, Love makes us strong. Fear strips confidence, Love breeds courage. Fear hinders progress, Love takes the next step. Fear makes you rude, Love is kind. God says, “Do not fear,” God is Love. Fear reacts, Love acts. Love is in action in Mogadishu, Somalia. The boys in these pics have had really hard lives, but they now have something new to add to their story thanks to @elmanpeace @wavesforchange and @lovedoes They are learning to surf!! And we got to join them their first time out! How cool is that!!
More recently, the Robertsons headed to Israel. Right before Christmas, Korie and Willie took their gang to the birthplace of Jesus, hoping to tour the cities and streets where he once walked.
Mary Kate Robertson traveled with her in-laws. She described the experience saying, ” I am so thankful for he opportunity to go back to Israel and get to experience it all over again with family. It was such a blessing to be in the Holy land.” She also stressed that she felt safe; “Israel has been in the news lately, and since we’ve been back I’ve been asked if we felt safe there or not, and the answer is YES. On the last night of Hanukkah, some of us went out to dinner, and I truly felt so at home walking around that little outdoor mall.”
this moment… one of my favorite places I have ever visited in my life. The Sea Of Galilee. A place where Jesus walked on water. What hit me though as I sat here looking at the water wasn’t just the miraculous things, but for the first time the Bible seemed to come to life in a simple way. Jesus was so much more than just the miracles, but he was also a friend to so many who just chilled, chatted, and fished on this sea with him. He laughed. He lived. He was all God and all human. In this one place for whatever reason I finally caught a glimpse and the beauty of the 2 in 1 . Fully God and Fully human on one sea. It made my eyes swell with tears as I just looked out at the beauty. It was a special moment. It’s hard to comprehend the awestruck wonder of who God is and who Jesus was, but being in Israel this week was very enlightening. I’m overwhelmed by His love and just who He was and is and is to come.
Sadie Robertson also enjoyed the trip, and said it was, “a week that has marked my life forever.” She recalls feeling Jesus’ presence on the trip and wrote, “for the first time the Bible seemed to come to life in a simple way. Jesus was so much more than just the miracles, but he was also a friend to so many who just chilled, chatted, and fished on this sea with him.”
If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’ve had the great privilege of traveling to Haiti, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, and many other beautiful countries around the world!! I love these countries and their people! Before you read any further, let me say upfront this is not a post for us to all argue about whether or not Trump said the words that have been reported, or what he meant by them. You can do that somewhere else. What this post is about is that in light of all of this perhaps these countries could use a little love and reassurance that we know without a shadow of a doubt that they are full of beauty and goodness and people loved by God and us! Here’s what I’m proposing: How about we send a strong and kind message to the world right now? What if we turn this conversation around to extravagantly show our love by helping mamas and daddy’s in these countries feed their babies, send them to school, and get the medical care they need? What if we helped take care of the orphans and keep families together? The link is in my bio to do just that! You can sponsor a child in one of these countries today and let them know they are loved! Spread the word! I’m on the board of @helponenow so I’ll be watching the numbers of kids sponsored. Wouldn’t it be amazing if I come back to you in a few days and every child in the program is taken care of because of you doing this and telling someone else to do the same?!? This could totally happen! Let’s do this! #strongandkindlove https://helponenow.org
The Robertsons haven’t only been traveling for pleasure. They’ve also been doing God’s work all across the world this year. Korie and Sadie specifically work with Help One Now. Help one now aims to end poverty throughout the world, and helps the Robertsons set up mission trips to put their money and hard work to use.
Korie Robertson recently spoke about her many travels, after President Trump was accused of insulting some of the countries she had visited. She wrote, “If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’ve had the great privilege of traveling to Haiti, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, and many other beautiful countries around the world!! I love these countries and their people!” That’s over four countries, and three continents Kories has visited this year. Talk about a world traveler.
Where do you think the Robertsons will go next?
