Silas Merritt Robertson, known to family, friends, and fans as “Uncle Si,” was born on April 27, 1948, in the small town of Vivian, Louisiana. He was one of seven children. During his high school years, he loved to play sports, especially football. In 1971, he married Christine Raney Robertson. Together they have a daughter named Trasa and a son named Scott. Between their two children, they have a total of eight grandchildren.
Si was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served until 1993. When he retired, he held the rank of Sergeant First Class. He then began his current job working at the Duck Commander company owned by his older brother, Phil Robertson. His primary job at the family-owned business is to fashion reeds and insert them into the duck calls that the company sells. Si is also one of the Robertson family members featured on the A&E reality show “Duck Dynasty,” which premiered in March 2012. In 2013, he published a memoir entitled “Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle.”
While Si makes a steady income from his work at the Duck Commander company, his earnings as a reality television star have undeniably boosted his net worth. He earned over $1 million from starring on “Duck Dynasty” in both 2013 and 2014. His overall net worth is estimated to be between $6 and $8 million.
