The Robertson family clings to their faith, especially in hard times. In the wake of last week’s mass shooting the family that became famous for their optimism and Christian values spread a message of positivity, and sent love and prayers to the victims and their families.
The Robertson Family Responds
The Robertson family responded to the Las Vegas mass shooting in a few different ways last week. News of the tragic loss of life broke early in the day, and the Louisiana natives were just as shocked as the rest of the country.
Sadie Robertson’s Live Original blog released a statement that read, “Oh, friends. Our hearts are heavy this morning with the news of the tragic mass shooting that took place in Las Vegas last night. We don’t understand why this has happened, but we are putting our hope in the only place we can find it during times like this – in the Lord alone. When our words are few, the best thing we can do is go to God’s word to fill in the gaps for us.”
Sadie also included six bible verses and a prayer in the post. She asked God to help her and her many fans to trust him, and to not live in fear.
Korie Robertson’s Post
Heart is hurting for those in the midst of this tragedy. God, comfort those who mourn, hold them in your hands and give them a supernatural strength and a peace that surpasses all understanding. I keep thinking if Jesus words: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3-10 #prayforlasvegas
Korie Robertson also responded to the tragedy with an online post. She wrote, “Heart is hurting for those in the midst of this tragedy. God, comfort those who mourn, hold them in your hands and give them a supernatural strength and a peace that surpasses all understanding.”
It seems the Robertson family is looking for answers in their faith, just as many Americans are in these trying times.
Missy Robertson also addressed the violence. The Duck Dynasty wife echoed her sister-in-law’s response by writing, “I can’t begin to imagine the pain of the 58 victims’ families. I pray that never happens to another person. Chances are it will. But Good will prevail.”
It seems the Robertson family is searching for answers, and clinging to their religion in these trying times.
