Phil Robertson Just Made This “NOT” Anti-Government Statement

Phil Robertson made some pretty controversial comments on a recent episode of In The Woods With Phil. Of course, that’s exactly what the show was built for. Here’s what he had to say about the government shutting down.

Not Anti-Government, Just Pro-God

Phil Robertson said, “I’m not anti-government, I’m just pro-God. I’m pro-God, and I can’t think of anything the government does for me.”

The Duck Dynasty patriarch was addressing the news of the government shut down earlier this month. He wants it shut down for good, and added “I’m sitting here and I’m thinking what does the government do for me? What do I owe em? What do they do for me? For the life of me I can’t come up with anything.”

Phil did acknowledge that government is supposed to build infrastructure and he uses it every day. However, he said, “I doubt it. That was probably locals that did this. The local people, the state of Louisiana. But they didn’t need to pave it anyway. We were fine before it was paved.”

He even misses the days of dirt roads, before the government “fixed up” his town. He says, “I remember when it was not paved. When it was dirt. Guess what? It was great. There were no pot holes… We were perfectly happy with dirt roads. Look we’ll get across the creek…I don’t need the government to build me a bridge to where I’m going.”

Phil has received quite a bit of criticism for celebrating a government shut down. He explained, “Therefore, I hope so much that when they said it’s going to shut down, I thought finally we’re gonna shut the mess down…”

Phil Robertson’s new show In The Woods With Phil gives Phil a platform to voice these sorts of politically-incorrect opinions. He wants his fans and critics to hear what he has to say. He finished the video saying, “As a Godly man or woman, make it your ambition to live a quiet life. Mind your own business. Work with your hands doing something that’s good, so you can share with others, so that you won’t have to be dependent on anybody, including the United States Government.”
