Missy Robertson Shares Her Parenting Secrets

Missy Robertson recently shared her parenting secret on Instagram. The Duck Commander wife relied on books while rearing her children. Missy is the mother of Reed, Cole, and Mia. Cole is studying at Pepperdine University, Reed is pursuing a music career in Nashville, and Mia is in middle school. With two kids out of the house, and one growing up quick, Missy has a pretty good track record.

Missy admitted she read Strong-Willed Child and Bringing Up Boys while parenting her three children. Missy wrote, “I used @focusonthefamily’s resources for years like “Strong-Willed Child” & “Bringing Up Boys” to raise our boys.” Focus on the Family is a Christian organization that provides families with resources for healing, mending, and maintaining relationships within the family. The resources have biblical principals and use Bible verses, stories, and ideas to try and create the best family situation possible.

The term “strong-willed” child refers to children who don’t always listen. However, these children have great potential to be leaders in society as they grow. They take special care and consideration, but with the right parenting, they will flourish.

The Bringing Up Boys description reads, “With so much confusion about the role of men in our society, it’s no wonder so many parents and teachers are at a loss about how to bring up boys. Our culture has vilified masculinity and, as a result, boys are suffering. Parents, teachers, and others involved in shaping the character of boys have lots of questions.” The book hopes to help mothers of boys make the right choices to lead to Godly, strong, Christian men.
