Korie Robertson Celebrates National Adoption Month

Me: is there anything you want people to know about you? Kayden: That I’m really great, and I can do lots of things, and I’m good at helping people and that’s all I have to say😭❤️😭❤️ Kayden isn’t great at math, and loves art. We have a lot in common 😂 He is one of 100,000 children in America today that are ready and waiting for a family. I had the privilege of interviewing a few of these awesome, brave kids. Sadly 30,000 of them each year will “age out” of the system without ever finding a forever family. This is not okay!! We have to change that. This is #nationaladoptionmonth Time to do something about this! Korie Robertson is a big advocate for adoption. She and her husband Willie Robertson have three adopted children. They believe adoption is a call from God. Adding to your family can only multiply your love and happiness.

Korie interviewed a young boy named Kayden who is in the American foster system. She wrote on her Instagram, “He is one of 100,000 children in America today that are ready and waiting for a family. I had the privilege of interviewing a few of these awesome, brave kids. Sadly 30,000 of them each year will “age out” of the system without ever finding a forever family. This is not okay!! Kayden said he wants people to know, “That I’m really great, and I can do lots of things, and I’m good at helping people and that’s all I have to say.” It’s heartbreaking to watch Korie interview this little boy, knowing that he doesn’t have a permanent family to go home to each night.

Korie has always wanted to adopt a child. She explained, “My Bible teacher adopted and just really, really talked about how important it was and how that what God calls ‘true religion,’ is taking care of widows and orphans and that imprinted on my heart then.” Willie Robertson was apparently also in love with the idea. Korie added, “And Willie and I were dating’ at the time, and I told him I wanted to adopt and he was all in from the very beginning. There was no hesitation on his part either. So, it was just something’ we felt called to do really early on.”

Now the couple advocate for kids in the foster care system, and hope to raise awareness about the struggles they face. Korie Robertson said, “So we started talking’ more about adoption. The more I started learning about and learning about the kids, you know, in foster care, and that sometimes age out of the system and don’t have a parent to call their own… That’s become more and more a passion of our heart.”

Korie Robertson and her husband hope to use their platform for good. She said, “We have this opportunity, God has given us this opportunity to speak and to talk and then let’s use it to do some good in the world.”
