Alan Robertson is the oldest son in the Duck Dynasty family, and is often poked fun at for his lack of beard! While the other brothers all work at the Duck Commander family business, Alan is a minister. However, he has lived far from a straight and narrow life. The Inquisitr reported that the eldest brother has a dark past of sexual promiscuity, adultery, and even abuse.
A Torn Marriage

Many Duck Dynasty fans are keen of Phil Robertson’s drug and alcohol abuse, but some may not realize the effect it had on his young sons. This particularly affected Alan, who was the oldest and most aware at the time. Alan reports that his father would bring him to bars where he would frequently witness sexual encounters. This exposure at such a young age led to his own promiscuity. After marrying his wife Lisa, Al cheated. Due to her husband’s infidelity, Lisa experienced her own dark years. She recalls sleeping with anyone she could, and even having an abortion. “I had no idea what I was doing and never thought about the consequences of my decision,” Lisa has stated previously. The couple has since reported they no longer allow secrets in their marriage, and have turned to the Lord for support.
The Youngest Brother’s Secret Pain
The baby of the family, Jep Robertson, has also shared his own Duck Dynasty secret in a book he and his wife co-wrote. The book is entitled, The Good, The Bad, and The Grace of God, and in it, Jep reveals that he was the victim of sexual abuse as a child. The perpetrator of this abuse was an older girl on his elementary school bus. Jep discloses that he often felt sick and skipped school frequently.
Jep has said, “Back then the high school students would ride on the same bus as the grade school. There was this girl there that was just real mean…I don’t know, but it was a lot of things took place — scary stuff. It was tough.”
The Wives Tale
Jep credits his wife Jessica to bringing him back to God and family. Jessica has admitted to her own partying ways.

In the family book, The Women of Duck Commander, Jessica states, “I was going through quite a lot when I met Jep…Just kind of being in that college age and environment. Just doing things that you don’t want to live the rest of your life doing. Partying or anything like that.” Although her statement is vague, her audience can deduce that Jessica herself has quite the background in sin.
They Lean On Each Other
The Robertson Family has many secrets, who knows what will come out next. However, the theme of their struggle is that they lean on each other to get through anything. Many of the Duck Dynasty cast refer to their spouses when speaking of healing. They always mention their God as well.
