What girl doesn’t dream of a beautiful fairy tale wedding? For Disney fans, that dream often goes a step further. It’s all about recreating your own Disney princess wedding, complete with your own Prince (or Princess) Charming.

A Disney Princess Wedding

Disney weddings are an extremely popular choice these days. Wedding dress maker Alfred Angelo even has a special line of Disney princess-inspired dresses.

But why stop at just a Disney-themed wedding? Why not actually get married at Walt Disney World? Couples have actually been able to hold weddings in certain venues at Walt Disney World for years. But there’s never been anything like this.

Now, you can have your wedding in the evening, after the park is closed. You’ll be married right in front of Cinderella’s castle. And better yet, you and your guests will be the only people in the entire park!

Magic Kingdom After-Hours Wedding Experience

Here’s the official description for the new Magic Kingdom After-Hours Wedding Experience:

  • Live out your fairy tale in true Disney style. Imagine riding in Cinderella’s Coach down a beautifully lit Main Street, U.S.A. as the majestic Cinderella Castle awaits you in the distance.
  • Enjoy a setting unlike any other as you celebrate your special day with friends and family.
  • Contact your Disney Wedding Specialist to learn more about this enchanting experience.

Sounds Too Good to be True

There are obviously a few catches to this setup, of course. First of all, you have to have a nighttime wedding. Since this event is only available after the park has closed, there’s just no other way around it. You can also only accommodate 300 people. Honestly, though, that’s a lot even for what’s normally considered a “large” wedding.

The other potential wrinkle in this plan? Price. Disney’s website gives no mention of how much it costs. Instead, you are referred to contact a Disney Wedding Specialist to learn more. Let’s recap, though: Disney is letting you and 300 guests into the Magic Kingdom after-hours, by yourselves, for a massive wedding in front of Cinderella’s castle. That ain’t coming cheap.

Then again, if you’re committed to the ultimate Disney wedding, is price ever an option? (As the father of three girls whose weddings I’ll presumably be paying for at some point, I’d say yes — price is always an option).
