In the first eight episodes of The Walking Dead Season 7, while Rick was living under Negan’s thumb, he and Michonne certainly didn’t see eye-to-eye. The worst case was likely when she returned with a deer for the tribe.

Rick made Michonne give up the deer and the hidden rifle she had used to kill it. Rick’s goal, of course, was to be extra courteous with Negan in order to create a new relationship of trust between the two communities.

That version of Rick is no longer going to be a problem.

On Talking Dead, Director Greg Nicotero discussed the wow-factors of the giant walker weedwacker scene on the highway, but he also discussed a metaphor within the infamous scene.

Nicotero revealed, “The cars and the cable was a great opportunity to see Rick and Michonne on the same page again. No one was sure why he was doing what Negan wanted, but he was doing it because he didn’t want anyone else to die.”

Michonne and Rick had to work together for this crazy stunt to work.
