Mayim Bialik was married to Michael Stone for a total of ten years. Bialik has two children, Miles and Fredrick, with Stone. They were married from 2003-2013.
The main reason behind the divorce has been said to be more of a mutual decision. However, it has been rumored that the reason could be Mayim’s way of parenting. Which is said to be highly unsatisfactory and illogical for Stone. Here are five facts about the Mayim Bialik and Michael Stone marriage.
1. Conversion
It is pretty well known that Mayim is very dedicated to her religion. She is Jewish. While her husband, Michael, was an equally dedicated Mormon before their marriage.
He had to convert to Judaism because Jews look at interfaith marriages as a controversial issue. In fact, until recently, mixed marriages have been fully prohibited in their religion.
Faith is something that a lot of people take seriously. Some people would have to truly love someone a lot to change their faith. Perhaps, Michael didn’t realize the sacrifice he was making at the time.
2. Parenting

Furthermore, it is also known that Mayim took a very traditional approach in raising their children. As reported by Entertainment Unlimited, this caused Michael to argue with his wife over the years.
Mayim even wrote a book on parenting, entitled Beyond the Sling. The couple believed that parents should sleep with their kids no matter how old they all get. Or, at least Mayim does. Therefore, Beyond the Sling is about “attachment parenting.” Sounds kind of “Helicopter Mom-ish.”
3. The Boys
Michael and Mayim had two children, Miles and Frederick. One of them was born in 2005; the other followed in 2008.
Believe it or not, reports say that Mayim had breastfed her sons up until the age of three. This mother referred to breastfeeding as an “on demand” necessity for her children.
4. Battle of the Brains?
Both of them, once again according to Entertainment Unlimited, hold doctorate degrees in the refined discipline of neuroscience. They first met at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Graduate School and instantly formed a connection.
Maybe all that brain power was too much for one relationship?
5. The Wedding
Mayim married Michael on August 31, 2003, in a Victorian-themed ceremony, held with guests wearing traditional Jewish attire. Sounds nice. I always liked Victorian styled wedding. But notice, once again religion comes into play.
Conclusion
If there’s one thing I’ve learned since entering adulthood, it’s that you can’t talk politics and religion with certain people. Judging from this information, it seems like religion may have played a part in the couple’s split. You have to be sure before converting to another faith.
In conclusion, we can only hope that the two stay civil in raising their children and are happier now. Their children should be happy as well.
