ISIS attacked various Christian churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday. At least 44 have been killed and dozens more injured in the attacks. Some of these churches had guards, which stopped the suicide bombers at the entrance, but they still managed to detonate the bombs.

The terrorist group wants to try and shake the foundation of Christianity, which is why they decided to strike on Palm Sunday. Christians in these areas have been in harm’s way for years.

ISIS Calls Christians Their “Favorite Prey”

Fox News reports:

“At least 44 now have been killed after bombing Christian churches in Egypt—two bombings on Palm Sunday. A suicide bomber approached the [entrance] to a church, where he was stopped by a security guard and then detonated his bomb. ISIS claiming responsibility, vowing to step up more attacks on Christians. The Christians in Egypt and Iraq have been under fire for years now.”

Author Lauren Green also said:

“ISIS striking here at the beginning of Holy Week strikes against the very foundation of Christianity. ISIS had warned against an attack like this in a video, calling Christians [their] “favorite prey.” Funerals have begun as relatives of the victims bury their dead.”
