Hurricane Irma Delays TWD Production

As Hurricane Irma pummeled the United States, shows shot in the Georgia region are having to call it quits while the weather passes through. This could mean major delays for AMC’s The Walking Dead.

The cast and crew behind the zombie drama are taking the storm one day at a time. It hardly ever rains on the set, so it’s unlikely they’ve written any weather into the show.

Other shows like Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, The Originals, Dynasty, Valor, and MacGyver, that are shot in Georgia are also temporarily shut down production due to the storm.

Variety writes, “On Sunday, Irma made landfall in Florida as a category 4 hurricane after causing major devastation throughout the Caribbean. The storm began to weaken as it moved through Florida, but took a heavy toll, claiming four lives and leaving more than 6.5 million customers without power.”

When The Walking Dead does get up and running again, the series will be focusing on the “All Out War” stories from Robert Kirkman’s comic. Rick will be gathering the Kingdomers, the Hilltoppers, and Alexandria to fight off Negan’s Saviors.

We predict the premiere will begin with Rick’s army charging to the Sanctuary, followed by Daryl Dixon and a few hundred walkers. There’s a small clip where it looks like they take down Negan’s walker fence and walk across the fallen fence.

It’s also possible that Negan won’t be there when they arrive. Despite hiding the Sanctuary, we expect that Negan also has plenty of outposts where he may be hiding out to avoid an early death.

What do you think will happen in the Season 8 premiere?
