The Most Iconic Show On Television Is Pinching Pennies

According to Uproxx, the salary differences are staggering. Apparently, just because the show is the highest-rated drama on television doesn’t mean that the actors are making the money they may deserve.

So how much do these actors make?

Actor Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus are perhaps the biggest names on the show. These pivotal roles earn the actors about $100,000 per episode. This sounds like a lot, but not when compared to other shows.

On The Big Bang Theory, for example, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco both earn about $1 million dollars per episode (and they’re sitting in an apartment versus being covered in blood or forced to paddle through zombie-infested waters).

So why aren’t the zombie killers bringing home more money?

AMC’s advertising revenue has doubled since 2010 so it doesn’t look like the show is hurting for money. There is some speculation that the actors have to negotiate their own salaries since anyone of them could be killed off at any moment.

It’s unlikely that Sheldon will be killed on The Big Bang Theory, but Rick and Daryl face death with each episode. Perhaps it’s just the nature of the beast, especially for actors who aren’t Reedus or Lincoln.

Another report has just come out to say that these two will actually be making more when the series returns—about $550,000 – 650,000 for Season 7B.

Do you think they’re earning enough based on how popular the series has become?
