In The Big Bang Theory’s tenth season, Kaley Cuoco earns an estimated $1 million per episode. As does Jim Parson (Sheldon) and Johnny Galecki (Leonard).

While it’s been reported that she and the rest of the cast would happily sign on season 11, she did point out to Jimmy Kimmel that another season getting green-lit is a “very expensive question.”

So, they’re not paying her enough? Is that what the bottom line is?

There’s much more evidence that points to this reason also.

Being Penny

So maybe it’s all one big negotiating tactic, but Cuoco seems ready to move on from playing Penny. It seems that her biggest annoyance with the iconic character is her hair. Yes, that’s right – her hair. Penny has had a lot of different hairstyles over the last ten seasons. It probably takes her a while in hair and make-up.

She added: “I just cannot believe how much we have all changed. The guys look exactly the same. I’m the only one that’s changed. They’ve worn the same t-shirts this entire time.”

Hair may be an issue for Penny, but CBS and 80% of TBBT Fans have opinions too…

CBS

CBS is definitely open to more Big Bang Theory, which is one of the highest rated shows on TV. “We are very confident that everyone involved wants more Big Bang past year 10,” said CBS chief Glenn Geller at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in August. “We’ll put it on as long as everyone wants Big Bang on the air. I hope it lasts forever.”

Fans

Some fans may agree with that. While others might not. However, it is clear from the online poll done by Digital Spy, fans would not want to see more of the show if the main cast wasn’t involved. Over 80% of those polled said that they would not watch.

What about money? Is it really an issue for Kaley and the cast…

Money

It has become apparent from the last two seasons that the answer does come down to money. I mean, you heard it come from Kaley, herself. The cast members have been battling the company over money during the last two contract updates. I can understand this. Especially Howard, Raj, Bernadette, and Amy’s actors who don’t make as much money as the other three.

But the loudest cast members in this battle seem to be Kaley and Johnny. Maybe that’s why Leonard and Penny make such a great pair on TV.

After Kimmel asked if she thought 10 seasons was enough, Cuoco nodded and said yes with a laugh. “It’s a lot of hair. That’s a lot of denim sizes,” said Cuoco. “I went from like hot to like 30 [years old].”

Even though most of the cast members said they would sign up to do more, I’m highly skeptical. Unless CBS can come up with the dough, I think this might be the Big Bang Theory’s farewell season. Hey, we’ll always have DVDs and CBS re-runs. And the countless items of Big Bang Theory merchandise.

Kaley Cuoco first starred on the Big Bang Theory at the age of 21. Now that ten years have passed, she may also be a little tired.
