Tuesday, President Barack Obama poked at Donald Trump saying that he is making “unprecedented” and “irresponsible” accusations about the election being rigged.  He said, “I’d invite Mr. Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get votes.”  He said this during a press conference with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi at his final state dinner.

The real question is, is it intelligent to be publicly criticizing the very person who could be the next President of the United States, in front of a foreign leader?  Probably not.  Also, this was his final state dinner.  What a waste to spend his last one mocking Donald Trump.  He said,

“I have never seen, in my lifetime or in modern political history, any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place.”

His full speech went on to welcome the Prime Minister, a few bland jokes, and then the mocking of Donald Trump.

He talked about how great the failing Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is.  He said, “We both reaffirmed our strong support for negotiations around the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, which can support jobs and exports and innovation and growth on both sides of the Atlantic.”  He also brought up NATO: “We talked about, as NATO allies, our unified determination to defend every ally and to continue to strengthen NATO’s defense and deterrence posture. Italy will be a key contributor to NATO’s join task force, which is now operational and can deploy anywhere in Europe on short notice.”

Obama mentioned how Russia and Ukraine weren’t complaining. They were doing nothing useful whereas Italy is supposedly doing a lot against ISIS.

Then it all began with a question by Kevin Freking of A.P. who said, “Donald Trump says Hillary Clinton talks too tough about Vladimir Putin, and that both of you consult the Russian leader. He also said that if elected, he might meet with the Russian leader before his inauguration. What do you think of Trump’s approach to Putin? And how would it affect America’s interests on the international stage?”

Defending Crooked Hillary

The question went on to ask about crooked Hillary’s server issue.  The person asked if the State Department should be instructed to look into it further.  Obama answered by saying Trump’s behavior towards Putin is “unprecedented in American politics.”  He even points out that Republicans don’t even like the way Trump has been responding.  To conclude the issue of Russia, he said, “The bottom line is, is that we think that Russia is a large important country with a military that is second only to ours, and has to be a part of the solution on the world stage, rather than part of the problem.”

About the emails, he said that the State Department and FBI say those accounts were false.  He essentially said that it was all a lot of over-dramatization, and defended Hillary Clinton tooth-and-nail.

Should President Obama be having such a big opinion of the elections, or should he be staying out of it?  His mockery of Trump clearly pushes the election towards Hillary.
