On Wednesday, President Trump sent out a tweet saying that talking with North Korea isn’t working. Today, he followed his words up with actions. In response to Pyongyang’s escalating aggression, B-1 bombers flew over the peninsula and dropped a bomb.

What happens next, is anyone’s guess.

The simulated military attack, included a bombing drill over near the Demilitarized Zone. The warning shot comes just days after Kim Jong-Un sent a missile flying over the northern end of Japan. The intermediate-range ballistic missile landed in the water near Tohoku, breaking into three pieces.

Speaking to CNN, General Terrence O’Shaughnessy of the Pacific Air Force explained the purpose of the bombing drill.

“North Korea’s actions are a threat to our allies, partners, and homeland, and their destabilizing actions will be met accordingly,” said the General.

Four US F-35B fighter jets joined two US B-1B bombers and four South Korean F-15 fighter jets in the joint US-South Korean flyover of the Korean Peninsula, an official with the South Korean air force told CNN. Officials noted that the exercise was designed to “strongly counter North Korea’s repeated ballistic missile tests and development of nuclear weapons.”

The Air Force also issued a statement confirming the bombers flew out of Andersen AFB in Guam.

The four stealth fighter jets took off from a Marine base in Japan. North Korea recently threatened to attack military bases in Guam, furthering tensions in the region.

In response to the provocation, President Trump cautioned the regime to cease threatening the U.S and her allies, or risk being met with “fire and fury.”

Today’s bombing drill simulated a surgical strike of key enemy facilities. The facilities are located in the Pilsun Range, near the eastern province of Gangwon.

The Korean Central News Agency is calling the fly-over a “rash act.” The “wild military acts of the enemies” are a result of the county’s recent ballistic missile launch,” reported the agency. In addition, North Korea is promising future launches “targeting the Pacific, where the US imperialist aggressor forces’ bases are stationed.

“It should not be forgotten even a moment that the whole of South Korea can turn into ruins,” said KCNA.
