However, today President Trump is showing the critics exactly the kind of man he is. President Trump Will Donate $1Million to Hurricane Harvey Relief out of his own pocket.

Doing what no president has ever done, he is personally donating $1 million to aid recovery efforts in Texas.
White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, made the announcement at a press briefing on Thursday. “As I said, he’ll pledge $1 million of his own personal money to help the people of both Texas and Louisiana,” Sanders said. Since journalists are reporting on the many organizations providing relief, the president is asking them to decide where the money will go.
President Trump and First Lady Melania, took a tour of the areas near Corpus Christi earlier this week. Vice-President Mike Pence, visited Rockport, TX where the damage is reportedly worse than in Houston. Both the president and first lady will be touring Houston and Lake Charles, LA on Saturday.
This is not the first time President Trump has stepped-up to help after a natural disaster. During the campaign, parts of Louisiana were hard hit by flooding. Then-candidate Trump, sent an 18-wheeler full of supplies to help the victims. In addition, he donated $100,000 of his own money.
And that’s not all.
After Hurricane Matthew, candidates Trump and Pence delivered almost $30,000 in food and staples to three NC cities. We’re guessing you didn’t hear too much about that from mainstream media, right? Also, it’s worthy of mentioning again, that President Trump takes no salary.
Instead, rather than taking money, he rightfully earns, he picks some new charity every three months and donates the money. Back in July, he sent a check to Antietam National Battlefield Park for $78,333. Suffice it to say, leftists were speechless.
