What don’t we know about Donald Trump? Let’s play presidential Trivia!

The man coming into office on January 21st, brings considerable history and tidbits. One thing’s certain — he is not boring. To better understand this enigmatic leader of global business, and shortly, the United States of America, let’s unearth some of the finer details.

Washington Week compiled an interesting record of unique Donald J. Trump facts — some you probably know — some you may not. All speak to the unusual strengths that will make our nation’s next leader remarkable.

1. Does Donald Trump’s Age Matter?

At age 70, Trump will surpass Ronald Reagan who was 69 when his hand rested on the Bible inauguration day. Donald Trump will be the oldest President when he is sworn in next month.

In contrast, the youngest ever inaugurated President was Theodore Roosevelt in 1901. After the assassination of President William McKinley, the forty-two year-old brought new excitement, fresh energy, and renewed power to the office.

Where Teddy was physically younger, it’s clear that Donald Trump is at the very least, mentally younger. I think most people a third his age would lack his vigor and energy level. I mean, could you keep up with him? The ambitious drive in Donald Trump is something he learned early on, but only after he got into some trouble.

2. Trump’s Education and Ethics Background

Young Donald got himself in trouble during grade school, so his parents sent him to the New York Military Academy, likely to teach him discipline as well as the three R’s. In 1968, Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business with a degree in Economics. He then attended Fordham University.

It’s no secret that Donald Trump’s dad started him off financially. Many parents give their children a boost as they push them out of the nest.

After college, Donald worked for his father’s company, but it was the young genius who had the business vision that would foretell his future reality. Trump convinced his dad to develop and expand real estate opportunities. According to Trump’s biography, his father often said, “Everything my son touches seems to turn to gold.”

Donald Trump’s net worth increased through his own efforts. But it wasn’t just financial assistance that Trump received from his father. An inspirational work ethic carried over to the President-elect.

If Trump has one hero in his life — it’s his dad. If he has one desire right now, it’s to keep his promises, even the surprising ones.

In his first 100 days in office, President-elect Trump has big plans. Some people will love his ideas, and of course, there are always haters — many who are lifetime politicians. His promises include:

  • Limit congressional terms
  • Renegotiate NAFTA
  • Repeal Obamacare
  • Enact a “multi-trillion dollar” tax cut

Another Trump initiative may surprise some however, as he is the first Republican president-elect to have put forward proposals on child care. He plans to allow families to deduct child care costs from their taxes and has proposed six weeks maternity leave for biological mothers. A very compassionate move.

Mr. Trump’s mindset works well with his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” #MAGA, his Twitter legacy, speaks of a President who will keep his word to incorporate great changes.
