40 Top Military Brass Sign Open Letter, Stating The Need For Donald Trump As Commander-In-Chief

227979

Donald Trump has never wavered on his support for military might, and U.S. security.

military, donald trump

Now 40 of the highest ranking, retired military leaders, from every branch have released an open letter of endorsement.

Although their endorsement for Donald Trump is extraordinarily strong, perhaps the most compelling part of this letter is their assessment of the security of the nation under eight years of an Obama administration.

It is sobering, and not a little frightening, to see the nation through their eyes

“The 2016 election affords the American people an urgently needed opportunity to make a long-overdue course correction in our national security posture and policy. As retired senior leaders of America’s military, we believe that such a change can only be made by someone who has not been deeply involved with, and substantially responsible for, the hollowing out of our military and the burgeoning threats facing our country around the world. For this reason, we support Donald Trump’s candidacy to be our next Commander-in-Chief.

For the past eight years, America’s armed forces have been subjected to a series of ill- considered and debilitating budget cuts, policy choices and combat operations that have left the superb men and women in uniform less capable of performing their vital missions in the future than we require them to be.

Simultaneously, enemies of this country have been emboldened, sensing weakness and irresolution in Washington and opportunities for aggression at our expense and that of other freedom-loving nations.

In our professional judgment, the combined effect is potentially extremely perilous. That is especially the case if our government persists in the practices that have brought us to this present pass.

For this reason, we support Donald Trump and his commitment to rebuild our military, to secure our borders, to defeat our Islamic supremacist adversaries and restore law and order domestically. We urge our fellow Americans to do the same.”

For generations, we have been a military family. I know what it is like to be young, away from home and armed with the responsibility of guarding the nation.

I’ve watched as another generation stepped into combat boots, the military weaken underneath their feet. Our family has witnessed what these leaders are saying, as our troop’s missions were called off due to lack of funding.

Whether or not, the Obama administration has intentionally neutered our military, stripped it of resources, and turned it into a social experiment to intentionally deplete it, history will judge.

In the meantime, it is imperative that we heed the warning and recommendations of these fine leaders.

MORE! guns, bullets, weapons, rockets, ships, subs, more generals, more war, more killing!!! more maiming!!! These generals are a complete JOKE. We currently have the most complete, powerful, dangerous army and WAR MACHINE the earth has ever seen. What do you mean our military needs to be rebuilt. If you believe that, my friends, I have a bridge I want to sell you! It’s a lie! Don’t believe it. $650 billion dollars for our military isn’t enough. GIVE ME A BREAK.

Donald Trump, your new Fascist Dictator. Did you know that many of his former high-ranking military supporters are employed by Defense Contractors ? They tried Fascism in Italy in the ’20s, Germany beginning in 1933, and that certainly turned out well. make Italy, germany, ‘Murica … Great Again.” If you actually read the text of Mussolini and Hitler’s speeches, they use the exact words “Make [plugin name] Great Again.” Same uneducated people, different decade. Stay tuned for same result. “USA, USA… we’re #1… we’re great again…” DAs !

Yeah, I’d like to know that, too. I don’t think Drumpf actually RUNS anything. He’d drive it into the ground. SO, his next-level-down managers probably runs what’s left. Hell, everything seems to be closing down.

          • Lol Nadz

            That’s the problem… you don’t think.

          • OldDog

Really? Wanting more information is not thinking? Curious outlook you have there. You accuse others of focusing on CNN (which, by the way, has given Drumpf more airtime (and ass-kissing) than any other candidate), yet rely, seemingly solely, on Breitbart, a known racist and xenophobic media outlet. That’s not much in terms of research, there, sparky. Perhaps YOU need to broaden your search for truth, justice, and the American Way, with, oh, say, the KKK Quarterly or the Neo-Nazi Journal, or perhaps The National Review. Your transparency slip is showing.

          • Lol Nadz

The only ass CNN has been kissing is Hillary’s. Their attempted smear campaign on Trump is doing the opposite. Breitbart does real reporting with details, references and links. CNN does a lot of opinion pieces. You’ve obviously been brainwashed by CNN with your kkk neo Nazi rhetoric. If you’re so open minded, why do you dismiss Breitbart, or the National Review? What’s so neo Nazi or kkk about them? They have gay jews working for them. Isn’t that the antithesis of neo nazis? Did I miss something in history class?

          • OldDog

Oh, geez, I AM disappointed. I thought you were a real, thinking person, and we could have a decent dialog. But, you’re what? 13-years-old and living in your mom’s basement or something? Please troll someone else, ok? Breitart a credible source .

This comment is very telling of your research ability and current knowledge of the candidates. Turn off CNN and do your own research.

          OPEN LETTER FROM MILITARY LEADERS

The 2016 election affords the American people an urgently needed opportunity to make a long-overdue course correction in our national security posture and policy.

We urge our fellow Americans to do the same.

We wanted to see Obama transcripts from college, we’re still waiting 8 years later, while several people who attended high school with him said he told them he was a foreign student. And the lady from the Hawaiian records office said she forged the birth certificate, and ended up dead a couple weeks later. He has almost as much dirt in 10 years of politics as Hillary had in 30. Both should be charged with treason.

Not one of them was a service chief or head of a combatant command. The only budget “cuts” involve the sequester and were in fact not cuts, but rather were smaller than anticipated increases, and which Both Obama and Clinton have said they’d like to Cancel. The only thing standing in the way is the hard right wing of the Republican Party who’ve decided it has to be accompanied by cuts elsewhere. And combat missions are never, ever, cancelled due to lack of funding. It has never happened, I promise you. The idea that a military that spends more than the next 10 largest militaries in the world combined has been “hollowed out” by smaller spending increases is absurd on its face and nothing more than a talking point designed to scare people who don’t know dick about the subject. Our military is in no jeopardy of losing its massive superiority over every other military in the world, and you can be sure the rest of the world knows it.

I think Pat is correct. Drumpf is crazy, and only the gullible are following him. Clinton has her issues, but Drumpf is going to have us in a war. He cannot deal with pressure or criticism. He’s a narcissistic 3-year-old. If you cannot see that, then I pity you. You’ll be hurting yourself and your family, ultimately, by following and voting for him.

      OPEN LETTER FROM MILITARY LEADERS

The 2016 election affords the American people an urgently needed opportunity to make a long-overdue course correction in our national security posture and policy.

We urge our fellow Americans to do the same.

I’m sure there are enough old cold war and post cold war neocon imperialist still out there that would go along with more money, more men and more war efforts to conquer the world. That doesn’t mean I would agree with them, nor should it to anyone else of objective and sane mind.

Trump has never met Putin, unlike Hillary who accepted millions from him, then sold 20% of America’s uranium to him. There is a law that no uranium can be exported from America due to national security, but when did laws ever stop Corrupt Clinton?

          • Uncle Benny

If Trump wins the election, by the time he finishes with the convo my, you’ll be lucky to be able to live in a trailer park.

          • Phedra Posch

I agree! Trailer parks are what you make them. Some are as nice and trim as any other neighborhood. Just because you live in a trailer park does not make you trash. Not everyone can afford to buy a house and not everyone wants to buy a house. You should be so lucky to live in a nice park like ours!

          • Uncle Benny

If you’ll reread my post (and read “convo my” as “economy” as I meant it to say), you’ll notice that I did not denigrate trailer parks or the people who live in them. As you say, not everyone can afford a house. When Trump is done, there will be FAR more people in that category.

        • Gamecock

Holy shit, can’t you libtards read. 88 Generals signed the letter, its a freaking fact, deal with it! Gen. Jerry Boykin, who founded the Delta Force was one of them, and I think he and the rest know a hell of lot more than you sad ass key pad peckers.

          • Area Code 506

Hey dipstick, as a former Ranger attached to 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta known to a poser such as yourself Delta Force, was founded by Colonel Charles Alvin Beckwith. I had the honor of serving with “Chargin’ Charlie” in 1978. So go stand in the “I don’t do the Google thing” corner. Oh, I see. South Carolina. You live in one of the stupid states. Nevertheless, go to the corner.

          • Gamecock

I misspoke as Hillary likes to say, he was not the “founder” but was a “founding member of” the Delta Force group. And 506 I seriously doubt you ever served anyone or anywhere. You sound like you live in your Mom’s basement. As for SC, the Palmetto State, we are a huge military state with many bases and very patriotic. • Phedra Posch

Exactly what is wrong with living in a trailer park? You sound like a real snob. I live in a mobile home park and am very proud of that fact. It certainly helps if you actually are able to process information and are able to do a modicum of research.

    BOOM!

    • UltraL

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even the retired military, and they are certainly entitled to be wrong, as these guys are. As our military is far larger than any in the world, complete with tremendous amounts of waste, there’s not that much to rebuild. Additionally, the Clown wannabe’ Commander in Chief is willing to start a shooting war because other taunt our troops (and that’s only one example of his total ignorance of the world outside of his monied schoolyard where he’s the bully)? Not to mention his love of the Russians, and his willingness to criticize the US for their enjoyment. Just exactly how stupid are these guys, and you, for supporting Trump? Boom that!

      • Anonymous Me

Our equipment is our of date, they are taking parts off planes in museums to fix them, and the Democrats are supplying ISIS with new, modern equipment, so boom! yourself. Why are the Democrats so fixated on bringing in hundreds of thousands of illegals and why are the Veterans homeless and not the illegal immigrants? Talk about being on the wrong side of history. I hope your party has a plan to fix the extreme divisiveness they caused these last 8 years.

    • Bob McMahan

It is interesting the names that are not on the list.

      • Rosemary Dallape Gonzalez

        yes they are go look

  • Kelly Mckearney

WOW! I’ve never read about so many people who r smarter than Trump. Hillary, Obama, mass media, Putin, etc. I am honored to be here. By the way smart people how much money is in your bank accounts and would love to see your degrees. And I would absolutely love to have just one person cite their sources. As smart as u all r u must know how to do that. Also noticed a lot of English professors in the audience. Please correct my comment for me and u surely know how to cite sources. I’m betting not one person will backup there opinions with legit sources and facts, if u know what a fact is.

    • UltraL

You’re correct in your observation. It doesn’t take much to be smarter than Trump. If my daddy had given me $1 million cash, or signed for a credit line of $200 million, like the Clown had, I’d have a lot more in my account. I’d compare degrees with you, but allowing personal information to be released for the unhinged doesn’t seem safe.

          OK…..goodbye

one would hope you are influenced and impressed by someone who has bankrupted 4 companies and defrauded thousands of people , either

      • Gamecock

or vote for the Butcher of Benghazi who as a “Public Servant” has amassed a fortune of over a quarter of a billion dollars all the while blowing her dog whistle so the liberal fools will blindly follow. At least Trump works and employs people, all Hillary does is suck money from whoever will give it to her, she is a leech.

        • Glum

66 deaths at 6 embassies under Bush. Where are the investigations? Not a peep from Gary Johnson or Jill Stein either. Why?

          • Arizona Bill

Ahh…maybe because they didn’t lie about what actually happened and tried to hide it from the American Public to influence an election genius…..

          • Glum

So where’s Gary Johnson and Jill Stein on Benghazi? Not a peep from them. You’d think they’d hop on the Fox News bus if there was really something there. They need the voters.

          • Area Code 506

So where are you on the 26 consulate and embassy deaths under the prior residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. C’mon…you remember poster boy for fetal alcohol syndrome.

          • judyt00

probably bragging about how great the people in “argo” were, forgetting that it was a foreign government that save lives, not yours

          • judyt00

no, they didn’t have congress reduce funding for defence of those embassies, knowing full well that when they removed troops and weapons that is exactly what would happen.but hey, blame the peopl whose hands were tied by bigoted rich old republican men who don’t give a fuck about the common people, so bdly they don’t care, they own shares in HMOs and won’t allow changes to the health care regs because they woul lose money while children die because their parents can’t afford thousands in coverage

    • Gamecock

      agree w/Kelly

  • Old Top Kick

Big whoop. Hillary has over 500 retired flag and senior officers in her corner.

    • Gamecock

WTF, I cannot stop laughing at that one !!

    • Phedra Posch

Really? Who are they? Where did you get your info? A crackerjack box maybe?

  • Hilah Martin

The key is retired, out of the loop.

    • WFP

The reason for that is that it is against the UCMJ for them to do so while they are still active members of the military. I guess you don’t know that. These guys remain very connected after they retire. THEY are professional.

  • disqus_iGMP3wAaFK

did they sign before or after he said they were rubbish.

  • DrPantsovMD

Who is this “they;” where is the list of names? I call shenanigans.

    • Rosemary Dallape Gonzalez

letter and names are on CNN

why are they not here, if this is the truth?

  • Glenn Clayton

It a lie made up by Fox news !!! The REAL news has reported that all of the brass are against Trump!!

    • JenellYB

Some have even come out and said that if Trump were to order them to do some of the illegal things Trump has said he will do if elected, they would have to disobey.

  • Melody Radloff

thank you for serving first and thank you all for for zullofting Trump may god bless you

  • morning

Uh so these supporters are anonymous?

  • Glum

Are these the same generals that Trump plans to “replace”? Even though as President you cannot do that.

    • Phedra Posch

You should learn to read. It clearly says “RETIRED”. They cannot be replaced because they are not active.

      • Glum

        ? ?

  • Neva Sari

Where is your source for this info? I don’t see a source.

  • Jack Harrington

Sorry. No way. I don’t buy it, at all. Just how powerful is powerful enough? These guys are whining because there isn’t an all out war going on. Mark my words, if there was a republican in office, we’d be in an all out war, somewhere. Our number one export from the United States is implements for WAR. These people can’t stand someone in the White House who won’t go WAR! WAR! WAR! So, of course that means MORE! MORE! MORE! guns, bullets, weapons, rockets, ships, subs, more generals, more war, more killing!!! more maiming!!!

Some sources for Pat Scafer>…88 retired military leaders endorse Trump

    Newsroom

Donald Trump’s campaign released a letter signed by 88 retired military leaders endorsing his presidential candidacy, including four four-star generals and 14 three-star flag officers, according to the campaign.Source: CNN

  • Rosemary Dallape Gonzalez

here are your names Pat Shafer the actual letter and every name on it so stick it.

    OPEN LETTER FROM MILITARY LEADERS

The 2016 election affords the American people an urgently needed opportunity to make a long-overdue course correction in our national security posture and policy.

For the past eight years, America’s armed forces have been subjected to a series of illconsidered and debilitating budget cuts, policy choices and combat operations that have left the superb men and women in uniform less capable of performing their vital missions in the future than we require them to be.

We urge our fellow Americans to do the same.

    • Joseph Parker

ALL of them Desk Jockeys who have NO Combat history and who have either retired because they can move up no further, or they are stuck at Desks.., because they are No Good at what they do. FACT! Funny, you promote Drumpf and his stance on the Military.., yet your False Idol Lied and Cheated his way out of doing his Duty for Country during Vietnam by having Doctors lie about Bone Spurs.., no less than 7 times! He is a Coward who would be the very first to drop his weapon and piss his pants in a conflict! Fact!

      • Rosemary Dallape Gonzalez

You follow a lying stealing murderer I will take a draft dodger any day. Did you serve in military? I bet not.

  • Rosemary Dallape Gonzalez

Pat Shafer must not know how to use the internet I found the letter on first try it is officially located on CNN you know the Clinton News Network

    • Caroline Morrill

Of course it would be on Clinton network because its something they can down Trump on. When are you idiots going to wake up and see that Hillary will not make anything better she will just continue to destroy America. People will not be free to do or say what they want. They will be killed or raped because they are against Sharia Law. Gays will be killed just because they are gay. Handicapped and disabled americans will be killed. Eveything That the american people have worked for will be taken away and given to others who have not worked for it. Wages will be worse or not at all. Property will be taken just because they can and given to others. You will see a globe technology war. Every grid will be shut down. There will be nothing .I guess from what I am hearing here that is what most of you want well Vote for Hillary and that is what you will get.

  • Rosemary Dallape Gonzalez

this site here lied its 88 people in the actual letter not 40

    • Caroline Morrill

No 88 backed Trumped 40 were in the Letter.

  • Eioljg

However in the previous several presidential elections, the candidates had several times that many endorsements by military. And the writer of the letter admits he has never met Trump. A number of these guys are the ones disgraces in the Tailhook scandal..

    • Caroline Morrill

How do you know not names were given so that is a disgraceful statement.

  • lillyluv’s

Ok to put this in perspective there are almost a thousand current generals and admirals in the armed forces. And these are retired and some of these are disgraced and have been involved in scandals. And they are admirals AND generals. Either way still means about 900 didn’t sign this letter. So not as big a deal as Trump likes to make it.

    • Caroline Morrill

Where are these idiots getting their information .They are why we have the government we got now because they don not support our military.

      • lillyluv’s

The only idiot is Trump supporters. You refuse to accept actual facts. You all are like cult followers believing BULLSHIT and lies. Knuckle dragging morons.

  • Edgk

No names? How many are retired or were forced out with a dishonorable stain on their record?

    • Joseph Parker

I actually read that NONE on the list ever did Combat, but rather are Desk Jockeys that could NOT make it into a REAL Leadership role. These are the Generals and Admirals Drumpf whines about when he calls them Rubble.

      • David Markham

Well what war did you serve in ?

      • Caroline Morrill

You are and idiot. Did you serve.

    • Deborah Woolley

      FUCK YOU

  • Joseph Parker

LMAO!!!! Drumpf attacks Current, Active Duty Admirals and Generals.., yet now wants them to endorse him? The “LIST” of generals and Brass you speak of contains ONLY Brass that sat behind desks and never fought in battle. It is my guess.., the “List” of Generals and Admirals you write of.., must be in Moscow and they do NOT wear American Flags on their sleeves.

    • Deborah Woolley

GO TO HELL WORM. GET THE HELL OUT OF THE UNITED STATES. YOU’RE A COMMUNIST. ASSHOLE, TRUMP DIDN’T ASK FOR THEIR ENDORSEMENT! YOU’RE A PATHETIC LOSER WHO NEEDS TO LEAVE

      • Joseph Parker

LMFAO!! Deborah’s a “Deplorable”!!! As I am certain you ONLY watch the laughable Faux News, I am guessing you MISSED your Commie Idol Drumpf try and take out his “LIST” of the 88 Military people you claim he says he does not want an endorsement from. Hell.., Drumpf, (his families REAL German, Nazi name), even tried to read them off but Lauer said.., “They are ONLY numbers”. You are the ideal Drumpsucker as you have shown here over and over again with all your Hate Filled rants to everyone who tells the truth here that Hillary IS CORRECT in that Racists and Bigots like you are for Drumpf. I suggest you pack a Winter Coat Deborah as I’ve heard Russian Winters are Damn Cold!!

        • David Markham

          Ma’am, I think that that you don’t understand what I’m saying. • disqus_YP2pFhRxku

Are Bill or Hillary enlisting for war, or is their daughter?

    • Caroline Morrill

I guess you think that If Hillary is elected we will not be at war .Guess again . Have you served? May be you should put your life on the line along with our troops. Your and idiot.

  • Glum

These retired generals are as out of touch as Trump. This is not conventional warfare with WWII battlefields. No amount of firepower can kill ISIS when they can blend in and lay low without killing innocent civilians. You up for that?

    • Caroline Morrill

You don’t know what you are talking about Once Millitary always Millitary. You must be out of touch. It can an will be done and you sound like you are hiding as well. You are one of the reasons we are in the trouble we are in . Such negativity.

      • judyt00

kind of like once a rapist and pedophile alswys a rapist and pedophile? good god you are just retarded. the reason you are in the trouble you’rein is becauseyou voted in too many bigoted old white men to congress, bigoted oldmen who refuse to take orders from a “nigger or “bitch,” who did everything the could to undermine Obama and will do whatever they can to udermine Clinton. YOU are responsible for the state od the country. you voted the republicans into congress and the senate an cheered every time they refused to even consider anything Obama proposed

  • John Lehnert

    Where are their names?

  • Kenneth Jeffus

jAre these the same brass that made such a mess of the ‘police action’ in Southeast Asia(I won’t say Viet Nam because we were busy fighting secret wars in other countries. Or perhaps they were the geniuses like Oliver North, fighting covert wars funded by selling military equipment to Iran. Don’t know that I have a great deal of respect for their military judgement.

    • Caroline Morrill

That is why we have the problems we have . They pretty much have been used as the bad part of the military because some one has to take the fall for all of it and the President or Secretary of State will not take the blame.

  • Ernie Aldridge

Donnie in the White House will mean war, somewhere. These wannabe has beens want to get back in the saddle, killing people is in their DNA.
People in the current chain of command are pro Hillary, are they not??

  • Ann Marie

This is great news, these Top Military People know who would be best for the Military !!!

  • joe sanford

Some people are eager to send their family and friends to die in needless wars started by power hungry dictators.

    • judyt00

      like trump will be

      • Nadal Salman

You might as willl.say. “blah blah blah voting for first vagina president”

So.your against lieing cheating and murdering right??????

        RIGHT?…??? 🙂

        • judyt00

and you just showed you’d rather have a rapist than a woman, sexist pig

  • judyt00

theseare the guys who were in charge of the atrocities that ocured in Viet Nam. right? the guys who got off on napalming women and children in villages? the guys who lied about WMD to the ush government in order to START a war that was only useful to their careers and murdered thousands of young men and women the world over. the guys who ordered rape victims shot in order to deny their allegations against Aerican soldiers. The guys who kidnappe innocent civilians from Afghanistan and Iraq and imprisoned them at guantanimo for decades? yeah, you should listen to them, they just want more young dead people

    • Big Iron

Where to start with this crap? So many lies and so much propaganda. Get a life and stop believing everything you read on facebook Judy.

      • judyt00

were you there in Viet nam?

        • judyt00

yeh, thought not! you are just a bigot

  • Kenneth Jeffus

Open letters mean nothing. Tom Cotton and assorted members of Congress wrote an unusually ill-advised and possibly unconstitutional communication to Iran which proved only that we have elected quite a few schmucks.
