President Donald Trump’s cabinet has begun taking shape. Mr. Trump shared his desires and gratitude in a Thanksgiving prayer after a “long and bruising” campaign season. “Emotions are raw and tensions just don’t heal overnight,” said the President-elect in a video message.

“It’s a prayer that on this Thanksgiving, we begin to heal our divisions and move forward as one country, strengthened by shared purpose and very, very common resolve,” said the incoming president.

To date, Donald Trump hasn’t held an official press conference since July, nor has he tried to hold an official press conference since winning the election. This video was released on YouTube, and the comments were disabled.

Trump’s Thanksgiving Plans

Trump’s family gathered on Thanksgiving in his Palm Beach estate for some much needed rest after a long campaign, and time spent choosing cabinet members. Trump recently chose South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley, to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

In another position, Trump chose charter school advocate, Betsy DeVos, as the leader of the Department of Education. These are the first women selected for top-level administrative posts. Haley is also an immigrant — weakening the wolf cries of Trump detractors who accuse him of racial and gender bias.

The governor from South Carolina doesn’t have much foreign policy experience, but Trump has praised her as a “proven dealmaker.” Similar to Trump, DeVos has also spent decades trying to change America’s public education system.

Additional Cabinet Options and Unity

As of this writing, Ben Carson has also said that an “announcement is forthcoming” which could make him the first black choice as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. But nothing official has been announced yet.

Trump may also suggest billionaire investor, Wilbur Ross, Jr., for the leader of the Commerce Department. Ross is 78-years-old, but is the chairman and chief strategy officer of the private firm, W.L. Ross & Co., which means he is adept at buying companies that are on their way out.

Now more than ever, it’s time to unite America, despite how individuals feel about these cabinet members. “It’s time to restore the bonds of trust between citizens, because when America is unified there is nothing beyond our reach,” said President-elect Trump.
