Roger Ailes

Photo credit: deadline.com Fox News has been experiencing some very difficult times over these last few months. They have been plagued by allegations of sexual harassment and racial discrimination. Additionally, they have lost three very influential pioneers at with the release of Bill O’Reilly, and the resignation of Co-President, Bill Shine.

Of course, we can’t forget former CEO, Roger Ailes. Ailes was ousted several months ago for his alleged role in the sexual harassment claims. Perhaps it was this scandal that brings us to today, when we have learned that Ailes has died unexpectedly. Ailes was 77-years old and the cause of death is under investigation.

His wife, Elizabeth, issued the following statement:

“I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning. Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son Zachary, and a loyal friend to many. He was also a patriot, profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise—and to give back. During a career that stretched over more than five decades, his work in entertainment, in politics, and in news affected the lives of many millions.”
