THE GREATEST TOP 10 LIST OF PINK FLOYD SONGS IN THE HISTORY OF TIME

-Chris McDonald

Pink Floyd could possibly be categorized as the greatest rock band of all time.  A band that essentially originated the progressive rock category and expanded the borders of what a psychedelic band was capable of producing.

Over three decades the band produced 15 studio albums, including the iconic Darkside of the Moon (1973), which spent a record 861 weeks riding the Billboard Top 200 chart, which equates to 16 (non-consecutive) years.

Pink Floyd produced some of the best rock songs of all time, so deciding on just ten of them proved to more of a formidable challenge than expected.  Floyd were incredible technically, visually, lyrically; they were money-pun intended.

All of these Pink Floyd songs are favorites in different orders, to different people, and for different reasons, but this is mine.  The ranking of each track combined with the hand picked videos create:

I always liked “Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict”, from “Ummagumma”. “Atom Heart Mother” was another good album. As you might be able to tell, I was into Pink Floyd for several years before “Dark Side” came out.

“high hopes” really? #1 should be “the trial” one of the greatest songs of all times. what about “see emily play” “set the controls…”, “pigs on the wing” “arnold lane”, “fearless”, “pigs 3 diff. ones” but “high hopes” ?
