As the AMC hit series The Walking Dead prepares for Season 8, but they’ve also created a cookbook that will hit shelves before the October 22nd series premiere. The official cookbook comes from chef-writer Lauren Wilson.

Despite being best known for intense, bloody walker scenes, there are the occasional meals prepared on the series. Michonne and Rick just found the schoolyard mother-load and there were other scenes where Daryl cooked an owl.

Then, of course, we all remember Carl eating a giant thing of chocolate pudding on a roof and Carol’s famous tray of cookies to please the Alexandrian crowd.

“Skills And Recipes” For Survival

The idea behind The Walking Dead: The Official Cookbook and Survival Guide contains recipes to satisfy your walker-watching party for Sunday nights this October when the series is back on the air.

Inside, readers will find, “Skills and recipes anyone would need to survive—during an unexpected walker apocalypse.” The cover appears to have some sort of lamb chops cooked to perfection.

The cookbook will be available on October 10, a few weeks before the premiere.

In addition to the cookbook, AMC also released an official recipe from Carol:

“In Episode 513 of The Walking Dead, Carol continues to play “Suzy Homemaker” for the Alexandrians. That is, until one resident catches Carol stealing guns. Soon that little guy has a big decision to make: meet a grisly end or eat more cookies. Lucky for you, you can just have cookies — lots of cookies — with the official recipe.”

The ingredients include applesauce, chocolate bar, baking powder, baking soda, shortening, flour, salt, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Not only will they delight fans of the show, but they’ll also keep little kids quiet when walkers are approaching outside…
