The writer-director began his career with Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End. Despite his comedic career, this new film has comedy, but it’s more of an action film.

Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Eliza Gonzalez, Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm, and Jamie Foxx.

Jon Bernthal plays Griff in the new film. Essentially, Kevin Spacey’s character organizes heists with different groups of bandits, but his getaway driver is always young Baby, played by Ansel Elgort.

The actor who played Shane Walsh is only in the beginning of the film, but he’s as iconic as ever. Griff doesn’t like that Baby always has headphones in during their gang meetings and assumes he’s not listening.

Griff wants Baby to get his hands dirty rather than just drive and avoid the action.

What’s unique about this role as Griff as that while Jon Bernthal’s character seems like the worst thing Baby has to face, he’s only the beginning. When Griff exits, Bats enters for the next job. Jamie Foxx plays Bats.

Bats is the true villain for Baby. Not only is he equally insane and unpleasant to be around, but he seems to want to kill people for no reason. This leads to a shootout and a few other people getting killed, putting Baby’s life in danger.

As the story continues, those around Baby are also affected by Bats, which goes back to the beginning. As part of Griff’s first speech, Baby is going to need to get his hands dirty to get out of the business for good.
