Close-Up On Our Fearless Leader
Rick lost control of his people last season while trying to work with Negan. Nevertheless, his days as a follower are coming to an end. When Season 8 gets up and running, Rick Grimes is going to do everything in his power to kill Negan and his men.
In a recent interview, The Walking Dead’s executive producer Greg Nicotero revealed how the Season 8 premiere will begin. Luckily for fans, this means we’ll hopefully get to see more of Rick Grimes this season.
It all starts with a close-up of our hero…
Sunday Nights Are Back!
Comic Book writes:
“We start season eight with a close-up shot of Rick Grimes, and we soon feel that he is the one who dominates the plot, not Negan,” Nicotero said. This is good news for fans who thought the AMC series might be slipping away from Rick Grimes and the core cast of characters as the show expanded in its sixth and seventh seasons.”
“Additional cast members, storylines, and communities paired with only so much bandwidth into hour-long (and sometimes slightly extended) episodes meant things were sometimes stretched thin.”
“With Rick Grimes returning to lead the charge as the show reaches its inevitable war arc, fans are going to be excited on Sunday nights starting in late October.”
Bringing The Fight To Negan
Based on the description, this is likely the same image we saw in the trailer where it looks like the sun is behind Rick and he’s probably holding his hatchet. It’s possible he’s also about to give a famous Rick Grimes speech.
With the Kingdom, the Hilltoppers, and the Alexandrians all fighting as one, Rick should have a real chance against Negan in the very beginning. It also looks like Daryl is bringing a few hundred walkers to the fight.
What else do you think will happen in the season premiere?
