“There’s nothing more awesome than a man who has music blasting from between his nipples,” said Howard. Whether he’s carrying his own theme music or carting his dog around in a baby carriage, we can’t help but love Raj Koothrappali on The Big Bang Theory.

“Hey Leonard—I haven’t had sex in a year,” said Raj Koothrappali. Of all of the characters in the series, he’s one of the most open and honest. More often than not, Raj is willing and able to make fun of himself for a quick laugh.

In addition to his self-deprecating jokes, one of the best threads in the series comes from the awkward bromance between Howard and Raj.

“Last night I had a dream we got so rich from the app that you and I bought matching side-by-side mansions. But, there was a secret tunnel connecting your front yard to my backyard,” said Raj.

Obviously, this is just one of the many times that Raj’s love for Howard made his friend uncomfortable. Now, he’s even taken over as an unofficial caregiver of Bernadette and the new baby.

“What do you think that means?” asked Raj about his awkward dream.

“Oh my God, Cinnamon, are you okay?” said Raj with a scream. In this scenario, Penny and Leonard temporarily abandoned Raj’s pet Yorkshire terrier and it ate chocolate. “You do whatever it takes to save her life. If she needs new organs, I’ll be any dog necessary and scrap them for parts.”

One of Raj Koothrappali’s quirks is the is his association with beer. In the early seasons of the show, he’s got select mutism. Whenever he’s around a woman, he simply can’t speak.

Luckily, he finds beer and eventually becomes comfortable enough without it to speak to women. For the most part, however, he does better with it than without it. But, like any addictive substance, too much hurts his chances as well.

“Ah, beer. The magic elixir that can turn this shy Indian boy into the life of the party,” said Raj Koothrappali.
