Mia Robertson had a big week. The middle schooler was awarded a “Cheerleader of the week” award. Plus she got to see her dad’s clean shaven face for the first time in years. Missy Robertson penned a touching tribute to her daughter in celebration.
Middle school is a tough time. I don't know any adult who would say, "I wish I could go back to Junior High and do it all over again." As parents, we strive to be positive through negativity, give encouragement through disappointments and try our best to read emotions when it seems impossible, all while being the most "uncool" person on the planet ????. But when she's awarded "Cheerleader of the Week" by her cheer coach for being positive, energetic and encouraging and you're the first person she wants to tell, it makes it all worth it. Keep going, middle school parents. It pays off. I have two grown God-fearing, people-loving boys to prove it! #PurposefulParenting #IwillSurvive #ButStillLookingForwardToHighSchool #ProudMom #HappyFriday
Mia Robertson is one of the tinier Robertson family members. She gained fame on the network show Duck Dynasty. Along, of course, with her brothers, sisters, and cousins. We’ve watched Mia grow before our eyes. And she’s turned into quite a lovely young woman.
Missy Robertson recently wrote about her young daughter’s struggles in middle school. “Middle school is a tough time. I don’t know any adult who would say, ‘I wish I could go back to Junior High and do it all over again.'” Mia finds herself in a particularly difficult situation. She was born with cleft lip and palate and had extensive facial and jaw surgery. The young star has come out victorious. She keeps a positive spirit about her.
Missy admitted that parenting a middle schooler isn’t the easiest thing in the world. She wrote, “As parents, we strive to be positive through negativity, give encouragement through disappointments and try our best to read emotions when it seems impossible, all while being the most “uncool” person on the planet.”
The Duck wife had a moment of affirmation this week. The school gave Mia an award. She explained, “But when she’s awarded “Cheerleader of the Week” by her cheer coach for being positive, energetic and encouraging and you’re the first person she wants to tell, it makes it all worth it.” How exciting!
The award wasn’t the first exciting part of Mia’s week. Recently Jase Robertson, Mia’s father, shocked fans by shaving his beard. He chopped the iconic facial hair in honor of the Mia Moo foundation. The foundation helps families of babies born with cleft and lip palette.
We’re glad to see the Robertson kids thriving outside of the show.
