Mayim Bialik says she’s #stigmafree, as she labels herself mentally ill while posting adorable pictures of her new special needs kitten.
Mayim Bialik And Mental Health
Mayim Bialik is famous for being candid and authentic on social media, and this week was no exception. The Big Bang Theory actress posted a photo of her cats playing and admitted to some pretty serious mental health issues.
Mayim said, “Adamantium and Nermal playing hide and go seek and also making this OCD hoarder pleased as punch that I didn’t get rid of the belt from my old robe #stigmafree.” The hashtag stigma-free is a part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness about mental health issues so that those who suffer aren’t labeled as outcasts and can find the help they need and deserve.
Mayim clearly has a big heart for those who are a little different. The actress just adopted a kitten with special needs. The cat was born without pectoral muscles and is now in a body cast. Mayim said, “When Adamantium (we call her Addie) sleeps, her arms don’t go all the way down.” That’s seriously so precious.
Adamantium isn’t Mayim’s first cat. She’s been posting pictures all week of her new furry friends, taking a page out of Kaley Cuoco’s animal-loving furry baby mama book.
She Takes Lots Of Care And Attention
Adopting a special needs kitten is a large time commitment, so it’s lucky that TBBT is on hiatus for the summer. Mayim posted this photo saying the cat, “Wants to be carried around all. The. Time. Purring and drooling.” Mayim also said the rescued kitten was like a soft baby.
The cat is named after a fictional substance from the comic Wolverine, just showing further how serious Mayim is about her nerddom. Sheldon Cooper would definitely approve.
