Jim Parsons recently congratulated Melissa Rauch on her pregnancy. The Big Bang Theory star recently opened up about her battle with depression after a previous miscarriage, and what it means to her to be pregnant once again.

Jim Parsons Says Congrats

After reading his friend’s beautiful and genuine essay, Jim Parsons took to instagram to congratulate Melissa Rauch on her wonderful news. Jim said, “Huge congrats to [Melissa Rauch] and Winston as they announce they are expecting a baby and a major “bravo” to Melissa for the beautiful piece she wrote about it for Glamour…” Jim even went so far as to link Melissa’s essay to his fans.

The essay was written by Melissa, and serves as both a pregnancy announcement and a confession. Melissa explains that she had previously suffered a miscarriage and had felt strange about announcing her pregnancy. She remembered reading other pregnancy announcements after her miscarriage, and feeling angry and victimized.

The star wrote, “Melissa is expecting her first child. She is extremely overjoyed, but if she’s being honest, due to the fact that she had a miscarriage the last time she was pregnant, she’s pretty much terrified at the moment that it will happen again. She feels weird even announcing this at all, and would rather wait until her child heads off to college to tell anyone, but she figures she should probably share this news before someone sees her waddling around with her mid-section protruding and announces it first.”

Melissa Keeps Her Humor

In the essay Melissa Rauch kept her humor about her, saying, “Then there’s the guilt. As a Jewish mother-to-be, this was something I was expecting to be instinctually good at. But I was supposed to be harnessing this power to guilt my future child, not using it on myself!” However, the overall tone of the article was serious, kind, and understanding. Melissa hopes that in being honest she will be able to help other women who have suffered similar experiences.
