“If a guy or your boyfriend, or a girl, and she’s your girlfriend, and they want to go farther than you want to go in your relationship, just say no. Talk to them about it,” said Robertson in an interview.
She knows the conversation is “going to be awkward,” so she considers this before she situation comes up in the first place. “It’s an awkward conversation but it can save you a lifetime of regret,” she said.
Knowing When To Consider Consequences

Other ways Robertson said her five second rule also applies to being pressured into drinking or getting into a car with someone who has been drinking. It also applies to letting someone know you’re not interested in hearing gossip. “Let [God] lead,” she said. “God will speak to you…he’ll give you eyes to see and ears to hear.” She concluded, “Stand strong people and live original.”
Saying “No” To Save A Life
For Every Mom writes:
“Sadie’s latest video offers some really simple, quick advice that could make a HUGE difference in any of our lives, but especially our teens’: take a 5-second pause before you make a decision you’re not sure about. And if you have to say “NO,” and it gets awkward? Remember that 5 seconds of awkward is WAY better than a LIFETIME of regret.”
“Sadie gives examples of “awkward NOs” that could change your life: saying “no” to getting in a car with someone who’s been drinking, saying “no” to underage drinking, and saying “no” to going too far physically in a relationship.”
