In the beginning of the original series the Walking Dead, the show had a lot critics slamming it for having a minimal cast of black characters. There were only two to be exact at any given time. It seemed like perfect timing that when one new black actor or actress was introduced, one of the others was killed off. It was almost as if the token black character was being rotated throughout the series.

Since then, the Walking Dead has fixed this issue and even though black characters are continually killed off, there is a high enough percentage so that it doesn’t matter. It’s unavoidable to kill off characters of any color and that keeps it realistic. And the Walking Dead has done an amazing job of balancing the killings out now.

However, Fear the Walking Dead is now having some problems and being attacked by critics. Maybe it’s just suspicion reminiscent of the way the Walking Dead started, maybe not. And although the Fear the Walking Dead Cast is diverse, about half nonwhite, there still seems to be a pattern showing. It’s almost too obvious, because guess what? The last three characters to have died, they’ve all been black. Yep, the latest walkers in Fear the Walking Dead are black. Why is that? Is it by chance or choice? Because a lot or people are starting to ask if something is up.

What do you think? And, even more unsettling is this… Until the appearance of Colman Domingo, these three black characters have been the only ones with any real screen time. That looks really bad and it’s being blasted all over the social networks like Twitter. You would think the creators would learn from their mistakes but I guess not. In any case, the creators deny any racism against blacks and state this is just coincidence.

Apparently, it just has to do with who the best actors are in the show. I can respect that if it truly is the case. I personally doubt there is anything intentional here, but it still beckons the question… How much racism still exist these days on TV and are people even aware of it in the first place?
